The next day Barbara woke up to an empty bed. That's when she realized Bryan never came home. So she dropped the kids off at school and drove straight to the presinct where Bryan worked. She walked in and asked to speak to the captain and was told to sit down and the captain would be with her shortly. She heard loud noises from around the corner so she followed the sound straight into a press conference. The captain Tess was talking to the press about how Bryan died. She told the press, " Bryan was on a case that involved a drug mob. He had got to deep in the case and it costed his life. His death was nothing more and nothing less. It's just the risk that comes with the job." One of the press people asks her a question. " Are you sure there wasn't a deeper scandal to his murder?" Tess replied, " I'm not sure at the moment." As the press continues to ask questions Barbara leaves the press room in a hurry while heavyly crying. She gets in her car and goes to pick up the kids early from school. She wants to be the first to reveal the bad news to them.
She gets home and immediately has the kids sit on the couch. The kids can see the sorrow in her face. Bethany says, " Mom, what's going on? Are you ok?" Then Brittany says, " Yeah, mom, are you ok?" The mom just rips the bandage off quick and says, " Your father is dead. He was killed in the line of duty." Then Bethany says, " what...😭 How...😭." Brittany was speechless. She just laid her head on Bethany as she cried heavyly. Barbara walked over to them and gave them a long bear like hug. Then she sent the girls to their rooms and called over her sister to watch them. She had business to handle.
