Ch. 3

“so, Mr. Mendoza, is it ok if I take Annabelle to the park later?” he seemed to think about it before he nodded his head

“I guess, but don’t go too far” I smiled and nodded my head

“I promise we wont” I took angie upstairs and got her changed into a pair of purple pants and a pink shirt along with a pair of white sandals then I went into ‘my room’ and changed into a pair of blue jean short shorts and a tight singlet with my black sandals. I got a diaper bag ready and folded up a blanket with some of her toys then I picked her up and walked back down stairs where I found erik still sitting at the table

“Mr. Mendoza? We’re leaving now. I’ll be back in 2 hours” he nodded his head

“ok, have fun” I put her in the stroller and took off walking and within 20 minutes we we’re at the park, where I set her down to play in the sand to play. I pulled out my phone and called my boss

“are you ok?” I smiled at the worry in his voice

“im fine, but he must not be too worried about getting caught if he’s allowing me to take her out places” he took a deep breath as if he was thinking

“where are you now?” I turned around to keep an eye on her

“he allowed me to take her to the park, but I called to see when I can end this?” he cleared his throat and I could hear him typing on the computer

“well he’s having a party tomorrow night, so put your plan into motion today or tomorrow morning. Make sure he asks you to join him at the party because it will be in the middle of the woods or wait until he comes home and end it there, but make sure you have the child ready and yourself” I nodded my head

“yes sir” we hung up and I grabbed angie putting her on the swing as I called my brother

“rose? Are you ok? What happened?” I sighed and ran a hand through my hair

“why does everyone think something is wrong?” he laughed

“because you usually don’t call people unless something is wrong” I shook my head picked up angie putting her on the slide

“well I just thought I would let you know that im ending this tomorrow night” he sighed and I could tell he was relieved

“good because I hate having you there and knowing if something went down, I couldn’t help you” I laughed causing a few people to look at me weirdly

“anyways, I have to go. I’ll talk to you later” I hung up and spent the next 2 hours playing with angie until I loaded everything up and started walking back to the house. I walked in the door just as erik was walking down the stairs

“you do keep your word” I smiled and nodded my head at him

“I try my best” he nodded his head and followed me into the kitchen as I sat angie in her highchair and started getting her dinner

“so how was the park?” I nodded my head

“it was fun, we learned that she hates the slide but loves to swing” he laughed

“I bet, did you have any trouble?” I thought for a moment before I nodded my head

“I was on the phone with my dad then my brother and noticed a black car sitting across the street watching me and Annabelle through binoculars” he smiled and nodded his head

“those were my men, it was just a test to see if you would tell me the truth and if you really watch your surroundings” I sighed and nodded my head
