Chapter 5

As we entered the meeting hall, I looked around and saw everyone I had met so far was her, I also noticed a couple different things. First I saw a girl in her pajamas who was probably Sloth, I then noticed a 7 ft. tall , old, shriveled up black man in a tuxedo. The last and most interesting thing I noticed was a giant red button in the middle of the room and right next to it a test tube with a silver console with small buttons that had strange symbols I had never seen before. Sloth noticed me looking around and walked over to me, followed by the old man " Sup 'YAWN' I'm Sloth, I don't think we've met before? Have we?" I let out awkward laugh "No we haven't, I'm Grace Ryobi, I'm new to the mansion and I-" she nodded "Okay whatever, I'm gonna go take a nap...see you whenever have a good something or...whatever" I just stood there awkwardly as she walked over to the nearest couch, plopped down, and immediately started snoring. I looked to the man in front and smiled " So let me guess, you're the embodiment of prunes?" He did not look amused at all " No, I'm Tyrone...the butler" I just looked at him " oh..." it then grew very awkward standing there so I slowly sidestepped to the large table everyone was starting to gather around. As I approached the table, Grace had turned into Vengeance and was eating a pack of gummy bears "Alright everyone, we have a few things to talk about, starting with our little visitor". Vengeance then pointed towards me and everyone stared at me "You've all met Grace Ryobi, he's gonna be here for a while so everyone better get to know him well" Pride smirked and said " Oh don't worry, I'll be getting to know him...closely" Pride was behind me in a flash whispering on my neck "Closer than you even know..." the only think that came to my mind was stranger danger, but when I looked back to say that he was already back where he used to be. "Now to the first, and most important reason I called you here. I believe I've found one of P.A.I.N.'s safe houses" everyone seemed to murmur "Alright everyone calm down I don't know for sure if it's a safe house so I'm going to send two people on a recon mission to check it out. Any volunteers?" Everyone raised there hand except for Sloth and me. Vengeance smirked "Alright, I'm going to send Tyrone and..." she looked at me " Grace, who do you think should go with Tyrone?" I kind of snickered " Well I don't really think you should send the butler" I stopped laughing when no one else was; I cleared my throat and said " But if it were up to me I would hold a tournament to see who gets to go". Vengeance rubbed her chin in thought "Not too bad of an idea...I like it! Winner of our tournament gets to go on the next recon mission!" Envy groaned " Why are we letting the newbie decide? For all we know he could be with P.A.I.N." Pride was at Envy's throat with a dagger in mere seconds " watch your tongue when you are talking of my apprentice...or They will be your last". Envy actually looked hurt " I-I thought I was your apprentice..." Pride glared him down "Not anymore..." Envy looked to the ground but you could hear every drop of his tears as they hit the ground. Vengeance cleared her throat "Moving back to the matter at hand we will hold a combat tournament, no hold backs, to the death if you even want. I'll put a sign up sheet outside the meeting hall, if you wish to join just put your name". Everyone nodded their heads in agreement and understanding " So now that that's been settled onto the next task, Grace's combat suit and which one of us he'll be staying with. As you know we created this tube to create an equal playing field for humans, if we ever were to take in one. It creates a suit that enhances a humans reflexes to that of ours and if trained with extreme effort and dedication would unlock their true potential, but only if mastered". Greed rolled his eyes "Yeah Yeah we know this now let's put him in the tube already and get his signature stone" I gave him a puzzled look "Signature stone? What is that?" Greed rolled his eyes again and let out a sigh "Well,CHILD, a signature stone is basically a stone which shows which sin you are most guilty of and let's you channel into their power" I nodded my head in understanding " Oh I get it, and then my signature stone will depend on who I stay with". Greed just rolled his eyes "Wow it seems like we picked up Sherlock Holmes or something" I glared at him "You're a jerk" he laughed " Keep stating the obvious" he then smiled and pulled out a knife and threw it at me, cutting my sleeve "You cut me!" He laughed and smiled a devilish grin "Sounds like a personal problem" Vengeance then slams her fist on the table "Enough! Greed leave him alone! Grace get in the tube!" Greed scoffed but still backed down and I gulped, she must be powerful if she can keep him in line. I then stepped into the tube and closed my eyes as slime and smoke started to fill the tube. I could still hear everyone but everything was distorted in a way "Grace can you hear us? If so nod your head" I shook my head yes " Okay good we're gonna turn on the machine, if you start to feel any pain let us know" I nodded my head again. As soon as I shook my head though I heard the hum of the machin and then felt a zap. After he zap though I didn't feel any pain like they said I would, in fact this was the happiest I ever felt, my entire body felt numb and surged all throughout. That's when I saw the flashbacks to when I was with my mom, the beatings, my dad leaving, the bullies, and a vision of all the sins at my feet dead and next to me stood a man in a hood "Good Grace, I'm so proud of you, now let's show the world true pain". My body started to convulse and spasm from who knows what and all I was screamed out was "PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN PAAAAAIIN!" Everyone started to panic and I heard buttons being pushed frantically and multiple different voices "I think he's going into shock! The stone hasn't formed. I don't care, open the tube! No wait I see the stone! Then open the tube, NOW!" I then heard the draining of smoke and fluids, the hum of the machine was gone, but for some reason my body wouldn't stop thrashing, I then heard Lust say "Put him on the table, Vengeance you need to get Mercy!" I blacked out for what felt like a second and then looked to see a worried Mercy scream " He's coming too!" Everyone gathered around me, except for Envy, "Why are you guys so worried?" Gluttony rolled his eyes " Dude you were out for an hour! How do you think we feel?" I sat up slowly "Are you serious? It only felt like a second..." Vengeance then appeared "Well now that you're conscious, we can look at your stone" I walked up to the stone and picked it up, looked over and asked "Who's symbol is this?" They all looked at it and stared at it in disbelief then an awkward silence grew upon them "Well? Who's is it?" Gluttony was the one to speak up "That doesn't belong to anyone, that means error, in other words..." I put all the pieces together "the machine couldn't define me..."

Alright another chapter is published by yours truly👏 and I'll come out with the next chapter ASAP but to be honest I'm only half way through with it so, it'll take a little bit, but trust me it's a good one (as usual😏) until then my good sirs and madams😉
