Harry
I really don't see anything, but I hear someone in the far off distance coughing. There is something really bright, illuminating my face and for a minute I think it's the police but when I don't hear someone screaming at me I realize that it's morning and the sun is what is shining in my eyes. I was silently hoping that someone would pull down a shade or something to stop it but I heard no one move. I don't even think anyone is up besides that lad in the back vomiting up his drinks from last night. As I begin to wake up I feel that I am not the only person lying on the ground at the moment as warmth surrounds me. I do my best to open my eyes but I am still exhausted from last night. I don't think anyone actually fell asleep till about five in the morning. I hear some footsteps quickly walk up to me and a hand shakes my shoulder, trying to wake me up. The figure blocks the sun from me and I open my eyes about as much as they would go.
"Hey, Styles. We really need to go." Carter tells me, urgency and concern lace his tone while his brooding face looked down at his mobile, which did not look to be in the best condition. I must have missed out on that adventure as I was probably drinking away the night. I lay there seriously confused as to why he was in such a hurry. My memory of anything from last night or even rather the past week was a bit fuzzy. "Harry, seriously come on. If we're going to make it to football practice in time we need to leave now!" Carter's tone was hushed but it became more forceful as the end of the sentence drew near. I felt the adrenaline rush kick in when he mentioned football practice and quickly realized that today was Saturday. We have practice on Saturdays. I raise from the mass of people, girls really, earning a few complaints about either being woken up or hitting their head on the floor because I was their pillow. Carter and I made a mad dash for it, and as we reach the car and begin to pile in, Carter stops and looks at me frantically.
"What are you stopping for mate? We have to go!" I yell at Carter but he's too busy looking back at the fraternity house that seemed to be in horrible condition after last night's extravaganza. Carter jerks forward as to get into the car but again he stops himself, his eyes never leaving the house. "Carter!" I yell again to regain his attention to have him focus on the matter at hand. He looks towards me, his eyes wild.
"What about Madison? Or the other girls?" he asks, his question earning him a curious but serious tone. I shake my head and motion for him to get into the car. At first he slowly gets into the vehicle but then again realizing the time limit we are on he quickly shuts the door and buckles up. I do the same much quicker and answer his question as I reverse the car out of the driveway.
"The girls can find another ride home. Or they can walk." I tell him bluntly. Carter looks at me with a disapproving look and I shake my head at him while brushing the small hair that seemed to block my vision. "Look, Mate, we have places to be. As far as we know, by the time practice is over, they could still be asleep back at the Uni house." I explain to him as I sped up while looking at the clock in the vehicle. As far as I know we had about thirty minutes to get to the school, change into our clothes and make it onto the field for warm up. At our current location we were almost an hour away. That was the only problem about going to the Uni parties. If you didn't leave the same night you left, you'd have to be up early to get the hell out of there to be comfortably on time to be at school. Usually the other kids at school go to the parties on weekends or Friday nights such as those but never during the week.
"Geez Styles, I would not want to be your lassie with that attitude," Carter tells me as he leans against the passenger sidecar door rolling down the window, retaining some fresh air so he doesn't get sick on the way to school. He's got such bloody awful stomach skills on keeping alcohol down but he's not as experienced at partying the night before you have to be somewhere as much as I am. I mean, I was the one who offered to attend the festivities last night and bring whoever wanted to go.
