I left Mason’s house, I didn’t see a point in staying. I drove home and parked in the oversized driveway. I crept into the house, the door making an echoing sound throughout the large foyer. My shoes were kicked off my feet and I pulled myself up the stairs and into my room.
Now here I am, still not knowing what to do. A shower would probably be in my best interest. I shower quickly since it’s almost 1:30am and I don’t want to make too much noise. I become a bit drowsier after my shower. I climb into bed and pass out.

Ben, my oldest brother, came in my room around 8 to wake me up and ask if I was alright. We talked, I told him what happened but avoided the Elias situation. No one but Elias, Jeff, and I know about what’s going on with Elias and I’d like to keep it that way. Ben asked Jennifer, our housekeeper, to bring me some breakfast. I told her it was fine, that I would do it, but she and Ben insisted that she should do it. Ben lay’s at the foot of my bed staring up at me.
“You’ve got work soon, no?” he asks.
“Yep.” I say and take my hair out of the bun and brush through the damp tangles.
Ben turns around while I change into my work clothes. I search for my black jeans, but they’re nowhere to be found. Lily. Lily was my only sister, we never got along. We’re the same age but ever since I walked through the doors of my new home when her, or our, parents adopted me, she despised me and worked to make my life a living hell.
I storm out of my room and across our large hall into Lily’s bedroom. I swing the door open, Lily lies on her bed with none other than my jeans on her legs. She cut holes in the knees of the jeans. Of course. She knows those are the only jeans I can wear to work.
“Are you kidding me?” I yell.
“What?” she says with a grin of victory on her face.
Pissing me off was her one true goal in life, she finds so much pleasure in it and I have no idea why.
“Those are MY jeans that YOU ruined! You know I can only wear those jeans to work, Lily. I know you know that. Stop doing this to me! I haven’t done anything to you!” I yell. Ben stands in Lily’s doorway making sure nothing bad happens.
“Go out and buy a new pair, I’m sure mum and dad wouldn’t care.”
“I needed them now, Lily.” I say trying to stay as calm as I possibly can.
“Sucks.”
I push past Ben and into my room again. I slam the door behind me. My phone begins to ring with Madi’s name and contact photo on the screen.
“Hello?”
“Are you ready? I’m leaving my house now. I should be there in like 10 or 15 minutes.” She asks.
“Yeah, but can we stop by Forever 21 or American Apparel or something? I need new jeans; Lily took mine and cut holes in the knees.”
“Yeah, no problem. You’re gonna have to be quick though.”
“I will, I promise. Thank you so much.”
“Welcome. See ya soon Hads.”
I end the call, slip on a pair of sweatpants and my black vans, grab my purse, and run down the stairs. Jennifer calls me for breakfast. She has a plate set out on the empty table for me, scrambled eggs, toast, and sausage.
“Thank you, Jen.” I smile.
“Anytime.” She returns the smile and scurries off.
My breakfast is finished within 10 minutes. Madi was probably waiting outside. I leave my plate and run outside. Madi’s car waits out front for me. She points to her empty wrist and taps on it. I slip in the passenger’s seat and we take off. We top by the nearest store, I run inside and hastily find a pair of jeans that would fit me. I manage to purchase jeans and avoid being late.
