Chapter 20

Shindou ran as fast as he could back to the school. Sangkoku-san's words still rung in his mind. Coach Kudou took the blame for the point that was scored in the match today so he was forced to leave.

This was all his own fault. If he hadn't scored that point, the Coach wouldn't have to leave. He made it back just in time to see Coach Kudou walking out of the school gates.

"Coach, this is my fault. You shouldn't take the blame"

"This is how it is supposed to be"

"Please don't leave, Coach"

"Shindou, how did you feel when you made that goal during the match against Eito?" Shindou remains silent. "I want you to remember that feeling" Coach Kudou says and pats Shindou on the shoulder.

Shindou was lost for words as he watched his Coach walk off into the sunset. Was it right of him to have scored that goal? And what did the coach mean by remember the feeling?

Right now, the biggest problem was that Raimon no longer had a coach. Was this the end for them?

The new coach was coming today and from the looks of it, it was going to be a coach from Fifth Sector.

Everyone in the team was low as they waited for the new coach to arrive. All except Tsurugi of course. Kimiko still hadn't managed to get him to do the project together.

Then, they see a tall figure walking towards them. Most likely the new coach. As the figure walked down to the pitch, everyone was surprised to see who he was.

"Hey! I'm Endou Mamoru, Raimon's new coach" this was shocking to the entire team. Especially Haruna-san, since she had known Endow before, and to Kimiko as well.

Endou Mamoru, Raimon's legendary goal keeper was going to become their new coach!?

"Endou-san! It's been a while!"

"Otonashi-san, how are things going?"

"Well, but the soccer club needs some help"

"Alright everyone, meet me at the riverbank for sone training. I will be waiting for you there"

"Why go to the riverbank?" one of the seniors asked.

"Because there, you can see something that you cannot see from the school field"

With that, he left.

"Guys, lets go play soccer with Endou-san!" Tenma suggested excitedly. But the rest of the team disagreed. They thought the coach was weird and one by one, they walked away.

"Its alright Tenma, I believe in them. They'll come back because they all love soccer" Kimiko said with a smile.

Tenma returned the smile and together, the four first years, the managers and Haruna-san made their way to the riverbank. And as expected, Coach Endou was waiting for them.

Endou started practicing with Tenma and Shinsuke, starting with their specialties first. Tenma was overly excited as he dribbled the ball back and forth. He was playing soccer with the legendary goal keeper after all.

"Shindou, the new coach came today" Kirino told him when he came to visit him at home.

"Someone from Fifth Sector of course"

"Actually, it was Endou Mamoru" Kirino's words surprised him. Endou Mamoru?

Shindou wanted to see for himself. Not that he didn't believe Kirino but just because he wanted to confirm that it wasn't just any hallucination.

And as Kirino said, it really was Endou-san who was at the field with Tenma and Shinsuke. Deep inside, Shindou was glad it was Endou-san who was their new coach, but he couldn't help thinking that maybe it was a trap from Fifth Sector.

In the end, all the players got curious about Endou-san and made their way to the riverbank. Gradually, they came out and Endou invited all of them to practice.

They started by practicing shooting goals and each one took turns showing their kick power. Then, the unexpected happened. Endou had called Tsurugi to play. They could see that Tsurugi was irritated as he walked down to the field.

When he stood in front of the goal, he stared at Endou and used his hissatsu technique, Death Sword. Endou who was right in front of the goal titled his head slightly to allow the ball to pass into the goal and he complimented Tsurugi. This shocked the whole team.

"Endou-san, why did you come back to Raimon?" Kimiko asked after practice when the rest had gone home.

"It was part of Coach Kudou's plan. We are going to rebel"

"Rebel?"

"Yeah. We plan to go against Fifth Sector. I don't like how they do things and we need to put an end to it"

"Have you heard anything from oniichan?"

"Gouenji? I can't contact him at all. Im sure there is a reason for this but if you want to know anything you have to ask Yuuka-chan. She probably knows best"

Why can't he be contacted? Maybe because he was too busy trying to oppose Fifth Sector? There must be a better reason than that.

Coach Endou has finally made his appearance to the team. Gouenji still cant be contacted and Kimiko is having trouble getting Tsurugi to work on the project with her. Read the next chapters to find out how things will turn outtt :)
