"People change, they just forget to tell the people that are closest to them"
Lola had forgotten just how much she loved this little den her dad made for her. it was surprisingly clean as well considering she hadn't been in there for around three months (she liked to go in there every so often to get things done without distractions). It was a somewhat peaceful start to the morning. She was woken up by her phone alarm but when she turned it off she could hear the birds chirping and a soft breeze brushing past the unstable walls of the hut.
She sat there so long that she didn't realize it was already 7:30. Lola quickly changed into her clothes, an old hoodie, skinny jeans and some worn out sneakers. She got a small mirror from her bag and brushed her hair. She looked at it longingly. It was an ashy brown on top with a faded purple ombre effect, it was cut just above her shoulders and her natural waves in her hair made it look effortlessly beautiful. She remembered how it made her feel so confident in herself how it just looks like she doesn't take care of it anymore. She grabbed her school bag and ran out of the hut, she would get the rest of her stuff later.

She walked down the path into the school gate. She pulled her hood up and kept her head down. If she could get to her first class without being blasted with a million questions then she'd be happy with herself. But of course, luck wasn't on her side on the best of days.
She got into the school building without being seen, but now it was even busier with even more people to hide from. She could hear the usual hubbub around her, the gossiping, the lies, the high pitched squeals of a group of girls when they describe their long winter break with this guy she met in a coffee shop. I kind of hurt in Lola's heart. What would her friends say now if she approached them and told them about her winter break?
She then felt someone tug on her backpack and pull her hood down. She turned round to see Olly Sivstein. The jock, captain of the football team, effortlessly cool, all around douche, Lola's ex-boyfriend. Olly could be called many things but forgiving isn't one of them she looked at him unable to speak.
"Well, well, well, the bitch is back" he muttered under his breath
Lola tried to escape his grip but he kept tight hold of her.
"You're not getting away that easily Lo," he said before yelling to the entire hallway "yo everyone! The bitch is back in town! Lola Davis has returned everybody"
The hallway went silent and Lola could feel hundreds of eyes looking at her. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes, she held the back till Olly let go of her bag.
"There you go Lola, I thought you needed a little welcome back party" he smirked before walking off into a crowd of people swarming around her. She could hear all questions being asked. Where were you? We wondered where you were. Did something happen? But for once she couldn't answer any she just stood there letting the crowd get bigger and bigger. When all of a sudden she felt a hand pull her away into the nearby bathroom. She looked to see it was her best friend Beth.
Beth was a loud blond that was the definition of gorgeous. She had a dazzling white smile and a figure all the girls envy. She had perfect features and was always seen wearing her signature lipstick that her dad had specially made for her so no one else could copy her. She was also rich, very rich. She knew that Lola never has half as much money as she did so Beth always helped her and her dad out. Before the crash, Beth and Lola were the it girls of Sandside high school. Beth still was an it girl but Lola... not so much anymore.
"What happened Lo? I called round your house like every day" she said sitting next to Lola on the row of basins.
"It was nothing I just needed some time alone" Lola mumbled
"Babes you know you can tell me anything," she said in a sickly sweet tone
Lola heard the bell in echoing in the halls as students start going to their next lessons.
"Um... I've got to go. I don't want to be late to my first class back" Lola said flashing Beth a half smile before practically running to physics.
She arrived at physics as quietly as she could and tried to make as least fuss as possible. She saw an empty desk at the back of the classroom so she instantly headed straight for it. She sat down and got her stuff out and kept her head low down when the teacher came in.
"Welcome class to another fascinating semester of physics, oh and welcome back miss Davies who has been away from us for a little while" he gave Lola a weak smile before directing the classes attention back to him.
Lola couldn't concentrate on his lecture about atoms. She just kept getting distracted by the looks and then the whispers that came after it. She remembered that it would have been her doing that a month ago. Gossiping about the new girl and how she had no friends she felt so bad for the girls that she'd blindly bullied because she thought that she was the most popular girl in the school. Lola got carried away in her thoughts and didn't care if she got a detention for daydreaming. She just wanted to be alone.
It was only when she broke out her thought the police came to the door. What was happening? Why were the police in her physics classroom?
The first one stepped into the classroom holding a piece of paper.
"This I classroom 403 right Physics Professor Amans?" he said
"Yes, may I ask why you are disrupting my lesson officer?" the professor asked
"I'm here for a student called Lola Davis"
The whole class turned round to look at her. She wasn't getting arrested on her first day, was she?
That was my second chapter! I'm just warning you now... I'm not going to be able to upload many chapters during the next week because I'm on holiday (lucky me!) and sadly I can't bring my laptop.
