Alone in this lonely sail
Harrowing tears and enduring despair
Should the journey be like a torment?
Should waiting be like forever?
Too deep, too dark
How narrow is my world?
In the farthest pit of oblivion
Lies my dreams motionlessly curled.
Pain immortalized by time
Though myriad lovers come and go
No flower, no chime
Can etherize the fang of sorrow.
For the love that was sought and found
Was a brittle hope in crimson’s strife
For it cannot materialize physically
In the winter of my life.
Time slowly plucks
The petals of a yellowing rose
With passing strength and charm
Youth and beauty have gone.
