We weaved through traffic for what seemed like years even if it was only a few hours. When we reached Phoenix it was dreadful. I'm not a big fan of hot places and Phoenix was probably the hottest place I've ever been in my life. Rain is somewhat of a comfort for me and the heat of Phoenix was not helping me feel relaxed at all. So I decided to take a cold shower.

"We're going to check out of the hotel so stay in the room," I heard Alice call out over the noise of the shower. I didn't get a chance to respond before I heard the door being slammed shut. I sighed thinking for a moment before I decided to get out of the shower. I quickly turned off the shower and dried myself off. I pulled on the jeans, top and lace up boots Alice had given me to get into when I was done.

When I was about to open the door I heard the phone ring. I could see Bella pick up the phone and answer it through the crack in the door. She spoke into the phone, not realising that I was listening in on her conversation with James. The other line went dead and Bella threw the phone on the bed. I watched as she walked towards the door and opened it. I knew instantly that she was going to confront James wherever he had told her to go. When I heard the door close I ran out from my hiding place and rushed after Bella.

I followed her for twenty minutes before we reached an old ballet studio. She walked inside and I quickly rushed to stop her but it was too late. She was already inside the building. I silently cursed myself before following her into the building. The ballet studio was eerily silent apart from a few quiet voices inside the building. I peeked around a corner and saw Bella looking at an old tape in a storage room. I swiftly whipped my head back around the corner when I saw James walk up beside Bella.

I heard a mirror shatter and I yelped in surprise at the noise. I quickly realised my mistake when I heard a voice say,"I told you not to bring anyone, tsk, tsk Bella." I jumped out of my hiding spot and ran at James trying to distract him from a bloody Bella who lay on the ground in pain.

I darted forward with a steely face. James looked at me in surprise before he grinned at me maliciously. He clearly didn't expect what was going to happen next. I kept running towards him but when I was a meter away from him I stopped for a moment. James surged forward to attack me and I quickly anticipated his move and dug the hidden piece of shattered mirror into his shoulder when he passed my figure. Whilst James was distracted with the shard of the mirror I tried to help Bella up. I managed to help her stand and we walked slowly towards the open door of the ballet studio.

Suddenly a body slammed into mine. James. The force of the vampires attack hurled me against one of the many mirrors in the studio. I felt blood pour out from different cuts. I tried to get up only for pain to erupt in my stomach. James stood in front of me with his arm in my torso. He quickly withdrew his hand from the bloody hole in my body causing me to release a blood-curdling. I fell back against the wall as pain engulfed my body. Tears streamed down my face as I tried to keep my eyes open.

I tried to remain conscious as I saw a figure approach me. The figure was blurry and I tried to move away thinking it was James and I groaned in pain. The figure came even closer and I soon realised that it was just Carlisle. He looked over my wounds worriedly and said something but I couldn't hear him. I could feel my death approaching and welcomed it with open arms...

I never really expected to be caught up in all of this... But then again who does?
