"I'm so nervous I can't think," I said aloud.

"You'll be fine and I'll be back in two hours to take you to therapy," Jackie said. "You know where your class is?"

"Yeah Grayson showed me yesterday," I replied.

"See your good, now wheel yourself to class before your late."

I rolled my eyes. "Love you",she said as I stepped out.

"Love you too," I shouted back which some students heard but who cares.

Being the good student that I am I was 5 minutes early to class. This was mostly because I didn't like when people stared. And I definitely didn't want the whole class staring at me if I was the last one who came rolling in my walker.

The good part was also that I got first pick at seats. Another girl was there too. I just smiled as I sat on a row next to her which was towards the very end on the left side of the room. I didn't say much because I was shy as it is. I watched the door as one by one people of all ages came walking in. It felt like highschool.

"Remember to turn in your papers," Mr Berg's said as me and the other students walked in.

"Hey Danny," some of my classmates greeted as I walked by.

"Hi." I replied.

I made my way to the desk that was unspoken-ly mine. As I put my bag on the desk to find my homework, I noticed an unfamiliar girl in the front looking lost. She wreaked of new student. I found my paper and headed back to the front.

More people greeted."Hi Danny." I smiled in reply.

"Good morning Mr Berg's." I said interrupting his conversation with the new girl.

"Danny good morning."

"For you," I said putting an apple on his desk. I always liked to give something to my teachers on Friday's this way I was always given slack if I did something wrong.
"You know what they say apple a day keeps the doctor away." I said and smiled at the new girl. She was very pretty. She'd be the new toy in no time.

"Always appreciated. I now get to live longer. Do you have your assignment?" He questioned.

"Of course." I said opening my folder.

"So just find a seat and follow along." He told the new girl.

I sat my paper down on the basket and saw that she was hovering trying to spot a seat.

"Your new?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said shyly holding her books.

"Here sit next to me." I said.

"Okay, thanks." She said and followed.

"Hey Danny." Some people said as they past my desk. And just as I thought people were already noticing her.

"Wow you must have a lot of friends."

"Not really I'm Danny by the way."

"I'm Amber."

"Nice to meet you and don't worry you'll fit just right in." I smiled then some of the rowdy football players came in. Including the star quarterback.

"Whose that?" Asked Amber looking at the hunky player.

"That's star quarterback Adam Hale. Him and his girlfriend are the it couple of the school." I said sadly since she seemed interested. Then he looked at us as he made his way to his seat in the back.

"Hey Danny whose your friend?" He asked.

"This, is Amber she's new."

He sat down choosing a seat right next to us which was occupied, but the other guy didn't mind moving his stuff.

"Welcome to our school." He said happily with a sly smile.

**
"Is anyone sitting here." A guy gestured to the desk in front of me breaking my train of thought.

"No go ahead." I said.

I looked around the room it was filled with awkward silences. No one really talked to each other. Catie was right. At least I didn't have to put up an act, like in my memory back in highschool.

I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turned around. "Hey just to double check this is the right number for this class right math 2340?" A girl seeming to be around my age asked.

I took out my schedule. "Yup, right class."

"Thanks," she said and I turned back. "I like your hair by the way, do you also have blue?" She asked.

I was surprised. "Yeah. You can't really see it that much cuz it's all tied up in my ponytail."

"Cool I like it."

"Thanks." I replied.

Then just like that the guy in front of me also tried to give us small talk. "Have you guys gotten the books yet?"

"Oh yeah I got mine yesterday."

"Do you think we will be using the access code?"
He asked both of us.

"I'm pretty sure, I got it just in case. I had to pay 72 dollars for that crap." The girl behind me said.

"You guys can also try getting it online on Amazon it's cheap for both." The girl right beside me added.

Then the class jumped in and everyone was talking to each other.

"You guys want some?" I asked holding out my gum to the people around me.

"Sure."

"Yeah."

Thanks."

"Hello everyone welcome to math 2340," the professor introduced.

The class was pretty fast. He first went over the syllabus and we got started right away with our lesson.

"Pretty intense am I right?" The guy Todd who sat in front of me asked. We had left being told that we were going to have homework and quizzes every week.

"For sure, that's the down side of a short semester," I replied.

"Yeah there's goes my weekends," Cassandra laughed.

"See you guys next time," said Todd.

Me and Cassandra talk for a bit after class until she had to go.
I then went to the parking lot and waited for Jackie. Now I was gonna head to the hospital to go see Travis, for therapy of course. But I also wanted to tell him about my last couple days.

I swung my gym bag on my shoulder and headed inside the building.

"Danny is that you?" Don't you look great. Looks like your back on track with life," said Nurse Amy.

"Hi nice to see you again. And thanks I'm getting there," I smiled.

"Is everything going great with therapy?" She asked.

"More than great actually soon I'll be able to retire this thing," I said.

"Good to hear and thanks again for donating your wheel chair."

"Not a problem. Nice seeing you again." I said as she got her papers and headed next door.

I headed to the workout area and saw Travis talking to an older man in a wheelchair. I waited by the front desk as he patted him on the back.

"Danny! Look at you. Somethings different," he said sarcastically.

I laughed. "What do you think is it bad?" His opinion mattered more than I'd care to admit.

"It's good, it's different, seems like it's you." I almost broke down from his smile.

"Thanks. Now let's get to work." I smiled.
