My first story on Wattpad, so critique is welcome. I wanted to go with a more realistic theme if anything.

Cursing is involved, if you do not appreciate such wording, please do not read.

Also, that is Vera's picture to the right.

 Chapter 1 : The Usual

THE NIGHT WAS HOT as I sat in my room aloof on my bed with a smoke in my hand. I took a hit, savoring it. Anything to get my mind off him. The man that stole my heart and crushed it into unrepairable pieces. I stared out my window, the trees swayed in the wind, and a loud smack on my window was the only thing pulling me out of my trance. I sat there for a minute, trying to contemplate what the noise was until another smack on my window was prominent. I got out of my bed, fixing my short shorts and taking another hit and put it out before approaching the window. As I opened it, a rock flew by me, into my room. I glared into the darkness.

"What the --?" I shouted.

"Babe, let me in?" A voice sounded below.

The voice clearly belonged to my asshole on again off again boyfriend, Ivan.

"No way in hell Ivan. Go do what you do best, bang hoes and sell drugs!"

He knew me well, we dated for on again and off again for about two years. He was cute, tall with nice mocha skin and a six pack that I couldn't keep my hands off. Oh, and well there were his other benefits. However, I always ended up hearing from someone about the girls he brought home to his apartment. I even was messing with his phone one day when I came across some dirty messages from a couple of girls. After the fight we had from that, he never let me touch his phone.

Aside from the drama we had, I loved him, too much. I always forgave him for the stupid shit he did, and lately I was just giving up.

"Baby, please. I really want to talk."

I sighed, of course I was going to give in. I mentally slapped myself for my stupidity.

"Fine, hold on."

I made my way down the stairs of my apartment, and unlocked the door. He opened it with a sad smile on his face.

"Thanks sweetie. Can we sit down and just talk about things for a little?" He sounded almost sincere, but I knew his form of "talking" was about anything but our relationship.

Never the less, I took a seat on my couch and flicked on the television on. He walked towards the kitchen, rummaging through my fridge like he usually does.

"What is there to eat?"

"Whatever is in the fridge clearly."

"Drop the attitude."

"Get the fuck out of my apartment."

We stayed quiet after a while as he grabbed a beer out of the fridge and walked over to the sofa chair next to me.

"You know I care Vera." He said it slowly, as if he was speaking to a tiny child.

"Stop feeding me bull crap." I said, and didn't even look his way.

"Vera, grow up and get over your jealousy." He said, getting a little angry now.

I loved pushing his buttons, just like he loved cheating on me.

I smirked, "Mmm which girl were you with last night? Olivia, Erica...?"

"No one. I was working."

"Right, working. My girl told me about how you were working in the bedroom last night. So shut up!"

He glared, his brown eyes growing angrier by the second.

"Whatever Vera, I'm done arguing."

After our little fight, he started making calls to his guys, and who ever else. I knew I could do better, but how could you give up on someone you loved.

After a few beers, he sat next to me, cuddling me.

"Don't even try."

"Fine, but can I stay? Invite a few people over?"

"For what?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Couple people in the neighborhood, wanna have a good time. Have a few drinks."

"Do whatever you want as always, I'm going to bed." I said, getting up and marching up the stairs.

I slipped on some tight fitting black booty shorts that hugged my bottom half nicely, and a small white tank top showing my tan belly and blue belly ring. He was going to get what's coming to him tonight.

After an hour or so I heard noises downstairs, and smirked. With a plan and mind, I strutted down stairs.

"Well dang ma, how you doing today?" One of Ivan's friends named Rashaad asked with a flirty smile playing on his lips.

I knew he wasn't the only one staring, his four other friends eyes drifted up and down my body, and I smiled back at them all teasingly.

"Good, thanks boo." I replied, my smile becoming bigger when I glanced over at Ivan, his eyes filled with jealousy.

I noticed a girl on one of the boys laps, glaring coldly at me. I looked her up and down giving her a dirty stare and she looked away, pouting to the guy she was all over.

"Anyways, boys did the party start without me?" I asked glancing at three bottles of Ciroc on the table, on empty and another half way gone and a whole bottle of Crown Royale.

"Maybe, but then again your always welcome to join." Rashaad walked over handing me a plastic red cup.

I took a sip, welcoming the alcohol into my petite body.

"I thought you were sleeping." Ivan said, not bothering to add any pet names, he never did in front of his boys.

"Was, and now I'm not." I glanced at him, and sat next to one of his boys, Davon.

A few hours later, and ten more people added into the mix along with the bottles they brought, everyone was hammered and having a good time. Thankfully, I drank enough not to be drunk, and to still put my plan in action. I flirted, put on my charm and the guys were lapping it up.

Ivan didn't confront me, but I could feel his gaze burn a hole in me. I took a sense of pleasure in this, knowing I was successfully hurting him back.

In a twisted way, that's how we worked. He cheated, and I found a way to get back at him. I knew it wasn't healthy, but I kept it going.

A guy I didn't really know whispered in my ear, and grabbed me in his arms, his hands drifting to my butt.

I wasn't really sure how far I was going to take it, but I allowed him to until Ivan bumped into him.

"Get off her." He growled.

"Hold up bro, what's the problem?"

"You, obviously."

"Who is she to you?" The guy asked, his hands still prominent on my behind.

"Don't matter, you need to back up."

A couple of Ivan's boys managed to calm the situation down, only to my demise.

I sighed, fustrated by not winning this round.

"I'm out, clean up this mess when your done." I said to no one in particular, but Ivan knew it was directed towards him.

That night, I didn't sleep. Silently I hoped Ivan would come upstairs, but around four a.m. it was silent. I rolled over and tried not to think about how much I loved him, how much I craved him. He was my drug that I needed, and I didn't know why. It scared me honestly, how could I let myself get to this point with a guy who won't even say I love you back?

I was in such a unhealthy relationship.
