The day of the small swim competition came quickly. It was now September twentieth and it was way too early for Charlie to function properly. The competition started at eleven thirty but if you wanted a good seat you had to show up way earlier.
That's why Holden stopped by at six thirty in the morning on a saturday to wake her up. He came in her room with her usual coffee order and gentle words.
"Charlie, it's time to get up. Come on sweetheart." He said, placing a kiss on her forehead and down to her nose. She scrunched up her face and turned away from him, not wanting to wake up even if he was melting her heart about it.
"Don't be like that, babe, come on." He said, going to the other side of her bed. She was going to turn around again but she felt her bed dip and the weight of Holden's body on top of her. She groaned out loud before opening her blue eyes to look at his bright Hazel ones.
"Good morning starshine, the world says hello." He said with a grin on his face. He bent his head down and placed a tender kiss to Charlie's lips. She took her hands out from under her blanket and placed them on either side of her face. They both smiled into the kiss. Charlie preyed on his distracted state to place her hands on his chest. She pushed him off of her so he was now laying on his back next to her.
'Good morning.' She signed while letting out the most unattractive yawn.
"About time." He said. "If that's what it takes to wake you up then I need to stop by to wake you up more often."
She rolled her eyes and tossed her blanket off of her body, hitting his face with it. She stood up before she walked out of the room to go to the bathroom. Now she regretted wearing what she did to bed. She was only in a tank top and underwear. That was way more than she wanted Holden to see. But Grams acted like if the temperature outside was under seventy-five then it was too cold so she had the heater up way too high. It felt like her was going to melt. Not even opening her window could save her.
When Charlie went back into her room she seen Holden laying on her now made bed.
"I made it so you couldn't crawl back into bed. My competition is today and I want you to be there." He confessed, his ears and neck turning red once he seen what she was wearing.
She nodded and moved to her closet. She pulled out a pair of light blue ripped jeans and her turquoise tank top she wore many nights ago when she went over to Holden's family dinner night. She looked over at her boyfriend to see him already looking over at him. She gave him the turnaround signal so he flipped his body over, burying his face into her pillows. She changed into her clothes and brushed her hair. She put it in a high ponytail before she leaped onto her bed, startling him. He flipped over into his back and pulled Charlie with him so she way lying on top of his body.
"Beautiful." He whispered. She leaned her forehead against his and he lifted his head up a fraction so his lips met hers. She scrunched her face and pulled away.
She sat up so now she straddled him and reached over to her nightstand to grab her cooling coffee. She took a sip and let out a low moan.
"Don't do that." He said before he placed his hands on her hips. "But I see, you're only using me for the coffee and here I thought you loved me."
'I do.' She signed, taking another sip of her coffee, moaning again. She peeked down at her boyfriend so see his eyes shut, his face, ears, neck were a burning red. Though his thin tank top she could see the red blush spread there too. She placed a hand on his chest and swung her legs off of him so now she was sitting beside him. He turned around so he was now face down in her lap. She placed a hand on his head, softly playing with his hair as she sipped her small coffee.
