You step back from your work with a triumphant smile on your face, you slap your hands together and admire your handiwork. Being a part of the (L/N) meant that you had a lot to live up to, so summoning one of the best servants ever should get you close enough, right? The last (L/N) who had participated in this wretched and ruthless war was close to winning with her servant, Caster, but Caster was ended by Lancer, the class that you completely adored and hoped would summon. You had gotten a relic from a close family friend, but you were unaware of which class you could summon. Which was a bit annoying, though you stressed to your family friend that you would prefer to get the Lancer class.

When you first found out the Grail chose you, your mother and father didn't know how to take it, your father and mother were proud, but were both afraid of your life. They said that they would believe you were in good hands when you summoned the servant. You decided that you would summon your servant today and because you were, you were overcome by nerves and excitement.

You held the gems in your hands as you stalked towards the circle you had illustrated skillfully. You stretch your hand out; it was 2 am when your mana was at its peak, and this was when you decided to do it. "Fill, fill, fill, fill, fill, fill," you repeat five times, each time a gem drops. "Repeat five times. But when each is filled, destroy it. Set," the magic circle around you had already begun to turn different shades of colors. "Heed my words. My will creates your body, and thy sword shall create my fate. Abiding by the summons of the Holy Grail, if thou dost accede to this will and reason, answer me! I hereby swear I will be all that is good in the eternal world. I will be the disposer of evil in the eternal world... But let chaos cloud thine eyes. Thou, who art trapped in a cage of madness. And I, who doth hold thy chains. Thou, clad with the Great Trinity, come forth from the circle of constraint!"

You had memorized those words from what your mother told you, she said it didn't have to be long, but that you had to connect to your servant somehow. A blinding white light surrounded you and the basement of your house. You covered your eyes, saving them from the intensity the light offered. You could already feel the eyes piercing into you before you looked up. A smile fell onto your lips as awe clouded over your eyes. "Are you my master?"

You were at a loss for words for a moment before nodding, "Yes, I am (Y/N), (L/N)."

The (L/N)'s were a mage lineage that had begun long ago but was kept a secret from the mage world for centuries, thus making them a strong lineage and blood line. They were now starting to come out of hiding. He nods his head, accepting the information, his lance twirls between his fingers with ease before resting on his shoulders, "I am Lancer, it's nice to meet you, Master."

You cross your arms over your chest, you didn't like the idea of being called "Master," all the time, it made you seem superior to those around you, and even if you were, it just felt conceited. "Please, call me (Y/N). It's most preferred."

He smiles, "I see, well, then, what first... (Y/N)?"

You hum, you hadn't really thought through what you'd do after you'd summoned your servant. "Well, I actually don't know..." you admit sheepishly. You put your hand in your pocket and pull out your phone, you had turned it on vibrate and had gotten one text.

Ellie.: You need to come over... Now!

You wasted no time pocketing your phone and relaying what had just happened to Lancer, "My friend just texted me that I needed to come over. She's a mage, too, but she's my friend and I need to make sure she's okay..."

His piercing eyes locked onto your alluring (E/C) ones, he looks off to the side, "If you think that is best."

You look at him curiously, before, you'd heard from a past master that when she'd encounter Lancer, you knew you had summoned the same servant, he did not act the way he was acting now. You slump your shoulders, "I meant, nevermind. Just enter spirit form please and follow me there." He complies without a second's thought, though you had heard that all he wanted was to serve his Master and each time he seemed to get the short end of the stick. You walk up the stairs, your parent's meeting you at the top. "Don't worry, Mom, Dad, I'll be fine."
