It was the first day of college for Sarah Davies. She was excited and nervous. She had never lived away from home before but here she was in front of the University of Mississippi.
Her mom and dad had brought her belongings in their truck while she drove her new Volkswagen Beetle. It was her graduation gift from her parents.
They started carrying her things to her dorm room. When they opened the door, they saw another young lady unpacking. She was a skinny blonde that was wearing jeans and a university t-shirt.
She was quite pretty.
Sarah walked over to her. "Hello. I'm Sarah, your new roommate.". The girl looked up and smiled. "Oh hi. I didn't hear anyone come in. My name is Heather. It's nice to meet you.". Sarah introduced her parents to Heather. Then they continued bringing in her things.
Once her parents had left, Sarah and Heather ordered pizza and decided to get to know each other.
Sarah started. "I'm from Twin Falls, Mississippi. I've lived there all my life with my parents and my older brother. I graduated at the top of my class and was valedictorian. I want to become a teacher. I'm hoping college will be everything I think it will be."
Next it was Heather's turn. She told Sarah how she was an only child from Redding, Texas. She was starting her second year of college and was planning to become a physician.
A couple months went by. College was in full swing. Sarah and Heather had become best friends.
