Melissa's P.O.V

"You're useless. You can't even make a good breakfast. But I can't say I'm completely surprised."

I look down, not saying anything. I just nod my head as my wolf Anara growls in my head. Though I suppress her enough where her growls are not heard.

"Yes, father."

"Good, now go make my breakfast again. And if it's as crappy as the last one, I'll make you sleep outside."

A smirk grew on his face as he mentions the last part. I shudder at the thought. The last couple days it has been raining so I would be sleeping in mud. I've slept outside before. It was in the middle of winter. I got sick but still had to do my chores. Father criticized me more when he found out I was sick. Saying how if I wasn't a weak, pathetic wolf, I wouldn't have gotten sick. He was right though, it is extremely rare for a werewolf to get sick. This was a few months before I shifted so I couldn't shift into my wolf and have the fur keep me warm. All I had on were a pair of pajama shorts and a tank top.

I nod my head and get back into the kitchen. I grab eight more eggs, milk, pepper, onions, salt, three slices of bread and some breakfast sausages. Every morning he has the same thing. Eight scrambled eggs with three pieces of buttered toast and six breakfast sausages. amazes me how much he can eat at times. I can only eat one piece of toast, maybe one and a half. I never get much so, I'm lucky if I get one and a half pieces of toast at once.

I made his meal the exact same way as I always do, so I'm confused as to why they taste bad. Maybe they always were awful and he finally couldn't take it and told me.

"The breakfast was fine Eli, he was just trying to bring you down!"

"Well, it worked Anara." I walk over to the stove and grab a clean pan setting it on the stove. 'We are useless'.

"We aren't useless!"

'Face it. I can't cook, I can't clean, heck I can't even be a proper werewolf! We haven't shifted since my first shift when you appeared. And that was well over a year ago!'

"That's because no one has helped you. You know nothing about shifting since it was never explained to you. We can always go get a book on shifting and learn how."

I stopped buttering the toast. Yeah, I can always learn from a book. I do love to read. And I really want to see what I actually look like in wolf form. I'm probably a very ugly wolf.

"We look amazing in wolf form! Mate will surely think so."

"How do you even know? We have never seen our reflection in wolf form! And how do you know our mate will like our looks?"

"Mate will love everything about us! He is Mate!"

"We haven't even met him. How do you know he isn't dead?"

"Mate is out there Melissa! Mate will find us!"

"Don't get your hopes up."

With that I block her but I can feel she is upset with me. I feel bad making her feel this way but she must understand that life isn't a fairy tale.

Soon I finish making his meal and bring it to the dining room. I set it down at his usual spot at the end of the table.

"Finally you're finished! Anyone can cook faster than you! I don't know why I keep you around."

"You keep me around because I'm your daughter."

I lower my head, what I say barely coming out as a whisper.
