Malcolms and Aces eyes are on me as I try to figure what to do. And what to say; what do I say? I look to Beta Trent and take a step forward trying to hide my fear as to what events could happen next.
"T-There must be some mistake. I'm with them willin-"
My voice began to shake and my hands began to tremble. I was cut off by Beta Trent. His body oozed with his authority which causes me difficulties talking against him. He is upset and he is my Beta, Anara whimpers.
"That is enough Melissa. Step away from them. All will be fine."
I take a step closer subconsciously to Malcolm. I don't want to leave his side for I fear I might never see him again if I do.
"She's saying she's with us by choice. She is my mate, and we-"
Malcolm raises his voice, anger laces through it and I'm praying it's not to me. He doesn't like that he was cut off as he growls when Beta Trent does so.
"She has been missing for 3 days without a word of her whereabouts to anyone! Her father is worried sick. A wolf who's with their mate would tell their loved ones, wouldn't you think?"
Ace shifts back into human form no ounce of embarrassment on his face as he stares daggers at me.
"Yes, a normal wolf would."
Venom drips from his words and I cringe back. He doesn't understand the true reason. Would he understand the real reason though? He definitely wouldn't. He'd want a strong and powerful mate for Malcolm. He definitely deserves one. Malcolm ignores him and is still looking at me, the confusion in his eyes tears at my heart.
"3 days? Melissa what are they-"
"Enough! We came for Melissa and her alone."
Beta Trent cuts him off again and snaps his fingers before we have a chance to say anything. With precision and speed, the wolves around us jolted forward in between each of us. A couple of wolves separate Malcolm and I which causes me to reach out my arm for him. The idea of being separated from him makes my body want to shrivel up and die. I will die if I leave his side. I know it.
Father will have my head for this. If he hits me for making his eggs wrong, the things he would do for trying to run away... I can't have that happen!
"N-No! I-I don't want to! Please!"
They continue to push me away from him and the pain in my heart gets stronger by the second. He's calling my name trying to get to me but against the strength of 3 different pack warriors, it's a fruitless effort. Ace does not try to stop them and just stares at me as I get brought closer to the vehicle. Bridgette is fighting back but not with as much conviction. She's conflicted. She doesn't know if she should keep fighting for Malcolm or not fight back at all for Ace.
I'm nearly at the truck now, Beta Trent has already gone around and sat in the driver's seat. As I'm being shoved into the back seat, I look at Malcolm one last time and yell knowing he's going to be my last hope.
"Malcolm! Find me please!"
And with that I was shoved into the truck in between two warriors, having to sit and wait for my impending disaster.
~°·Ω·°~
The drive felt like an eternity. I tried to explain to the warriors on either side of me the truth but before I could get many words out, Beta Trent used his dominant voice on me to stay quiet. Since Anara still sees him as our superior, we couldn't fight it even if we wanted to. Our souls are bonded in a way when we are in a pack together and since we haven't left the pack yet, he is our superior and our instincts can't fight against that.
