I feel a warmth dance across my face. The caress of heat radiates on my fur. It feels so nice. The pleasure of being caressed by the gentlest glow is such a calming sensation. I could lay like this for hours. The light starts to get into my eyes causing me to squint. Not so nice. I open my eyes a touch and I make out through my tired gaze, sun rays poking between the leaves. I jolt awake. Oh, croutons! That's sunlight! What time is it? I crawl out from under the bush and look at the sky. The sun is just above the horizon. That means it's still early. Right?"Of course! I would not make us sleep in and make mate wait."
Anara sounds so insulted that I could even insinuate her making us late. Whoops. "Sorry, I'm so nervous. We don't even have a watch to tell the time."
"It is still a few hours before. We don't need to worry."
That puzzled me. How can she tell the time? Is that like a wolf thing?
"Still. We need to check. We should be there early in case they come early. That would be difficult to explain away."
I trot over to my clothes and shift back into human form. I feel all of them and they've all dried. Thank goodness. Nothing is worse than soggy clothes. I grab a pair of pants and a shirt that isn't as baggy as the last one and put them on. This one doesn't have a design. Just a simple blue t-shirt with dark blue jeans. I brush out my hair and brush my teeth. Excitement builds with every passing second. This is my last morning here! Last day to see this awful place.
I mean this pack isn't all bad and it is quite pretty, but everything here just feels tainted. With what could have been, and with what can never be. I sigh. Stop getting sad. This is a happy day. A new place that I can explore and truly live in! And be with Malcolm. He seems like such a sweet and caring person. He even knows how to cook! Maybe instead of me making meals for just him, he could make them with me! Or maybe sometimes he could make me something. Oh, I'm getting ahead of myself.
I pack up the rest of my stuff and I head out to that house. I'm so excited. Freedom is nearly here!

I sit on one of the display rocks beside the driveway. Sat there for about 10 minutes before the people who actually live here came out to ask if I was okay. It was a sweet elderly couple who came out. They asked if I needed to call a taxi and that I can use their phone to contact a relative. I will definitely not be doing that. Nevertheless, I thanked them for their gesture saying that I wasn't from this part of town and my friends were picking me up. That I was waiting here cause it was an easy spot to watch for my friends from. Even though a Wendy's was right down the street and be easier for people to be spotted there, the couple was quite sweet telling me if I did need anything, then they would be inside.
I sat there for what felt like an eternity before a light blue truck pulled up next to the driveway. Noticing that it was the same truck as the night I met them, I smiled glad they were able to fix it so quickly. The truck was very appealing. Or was it an SUV? It's hard to tell. Almost like it was a mix between the two, with enough seating to be a regular car but the tires of a truck as well as a front grill that is very rectangular. A very boxy shape, which makes it look almost like a toy truck. The top was white rather than the rest which was blue. It would appear the roof could be removed, and I absolutely adore convertibles. I see why Ace wanted to build this; It was gorgeous. I hop up from my not so comfy seat and slide my backpack over my shoulder. I squeeze the arm strap. It's finally time.
Ace was in the driver's seat which makes sense considering it's his truck. Bridgette was in the front passenger seat and Malcolm was directly behind her. She smiled and waved at me. I waved back with the largest grin on my face. If I were to smile any harder, I think my smile would fall off my face. Though I think Malcolm's smile could rival mine. It wasn't as large of a smile as mine, but more of a gentle one. Yet, it's still is radiated with overwhelming levels of happiness. So many layers to smiles I didn't even know existed.
