Hassan's Pov
I have been confident my whole life, faced challenges never have I ever felt so anxious and scared of the consequences but today I do, standing here looking at Mishi I am hell nervous about how should I confess my feelings. These past couple of months I have been rattling my brain over every single detail about the conversation I'm going to have with her. Imagining it a million times with uncountable reactions I can receive from her.
After finally building up the courage I tried to tell her. I wasn't even finished when she stopped me. It looked like one of the bad reactions I have imagined but I just could not let it pass that I was holding her hand in mine, her soft skin which then turned cold after a few seconds. Those eyes stopping my whole world, thinking that she is going to be mad at me just scares the crap out of me.
I was just going to say it when Wiki yelled for her to come out, I'm going to kill whoever is that.
'Way to ruin my moment.'
This is quite odd she never keeps appointments just after we have finished a project. She walked out with me standing dumbfounded.
I followed after minutes later, walking to the living room where everybody was pretty silent I saw a man standing in the middle of the room who looked intimidating, the atmosphere all of a sudden getting more cold than ever. None of the guys said anything because we didn't know this man except Mishi who looked more of a statue upon the sight of the unknown man. Her face became pale while she froze not at all responding.
The man watched Mishi giving her a slight smile and a nod as if commanding her to move, she did. She finally moved forward and something happened that none of us expected. As she stepped towards the man, he enveloped her in his embrace and a tight one indeed. We have never seen her this intimate with a man before so this was another surprise for us but still no one said anything but kept only watching.
Mishi became stiff as soon as she was held, she also didn't respond to it but didn't bolt either like she did a while ago with me. After a good long minute he let her go keeping his eyes on her face which was completely expressionless. I wonder if not interfering in this odd situation was due to the reason we were in shock or we just did not have the strength to say something.
The man finally drew his attention from her looking at us and said "Hello! I'm Nayel Asif." he continued when he didn't receive an answer "Well, as much as I would like to stay and chat but my dear wife and I have a lot of catching up to do so we will be on our way."
It felt like my heart jumped out of my rib-cage and the excruciating pain was just unbearable for me right now hearing the most dreadful thing. He briefly looked at me and then the guys saying "Say goodbye to them baby!" while holding Mishi's arm so tight that she winced in pain but masked her expression quickly and followed his instruction saying "Bye" so softly, barely audible.
This was another shock in the series of shock as we all are aware that before leaving Mishi always reminds us our duties, informs about the next meeting with a client or assigns us some task leaving with all smiles but this is tense.
Wiki and Nofil said in unison "Bye"
Atif did not respond as he was still in shock, I just nodded as Nayel pulled her with him and without another word she left with him. We heard the car engine coming to life and then in a matter of seconds there was silence among us.
I didn't know my knuckles were hurting because of my fist being so tight until I felt Nofil's hand on my shoulder "Hey listen, I'm really sorry for you. This came out as such a big shock to all of us, how you holding up?" I didn't respond.
"She is married!" Wiki voiced the dreadful news again which I was trying so hard to get out of my head. "How long?" said Atif. Everyone had so many questions. "Why didn't she tell us, she called us friends which friend hides the biggest part of their lives?" said Nofil in an aggitated tone.
"She.. I was about to admit my feelings to her, she said she wanted to tell us something. She looked guilty."
I said. " Dude, the look on her face right now was heart breaking, ice cold statue standing just doesn't seem right to me." replied Wiki."Umm.. guys I think I can answer that question. Why don't you take a look at this." Atif grabbed our attention on the couch turning the laptop's screen towards us. Wiki quickly stumbled over the couch half tripping onto the table in the middle trying to read.
Nayel Asif, the famous business man in Pakistan. Owns the company Nayel Corporations, a chain of restaurants in different cities, the most eligible bachelor of the elite. Rumours are he is friends with some underworld people. He had a recent case in court accused of paid murder of a business rivalry and destroyed his company but tge charges were nulled due to no evidence or proof.
I started pacing back and forth after hearing this. "The question is what can we do and what should we do? He seems like a dangerous man." said Nofil. "We should follow Mishi to her apartment, for all we know she is in some deep shit." I said to which Wiki reponded "That man is her husband, what are we even going to say that we don't trust you with your wife so she is coning with us!" This got me angry "We can't just sit here and wait for something to happen, come on!" I was interrupted by Atif "Wiki's right, let's think this through we need a good excuse to end up at her door, we're not sure if they really went to her place!"
This is enough for me to get going, grabbing the car keys I ran out to the car hearing the guys calling me to stop but I didn't listen. Speeding my way to the road that lead to the city within just five minutes I saw the familiar car. Following it I realized they were going on a different track from her apartment. The car stopped in front of a house and from the look of it it spoke expensive. I saw Nayel and Mishi get out of the car walking inside the house. I waited a few feet away from the house thinkinh what to do next, taking my phone out texted the address to the guys telling to come quick. I stepped out of my car walking slowly to the house windows but I couldn't see anything then I heard Nayel yelling "I trusted the wrong people..." it was hard to get all of it so I heard in bits then Mishi voice came through, she was crying "Stop, I'm sorry, please listen to me. " She pleaded. From her voice she seemed scared then I heard breaking of things.
I can not take this any longer, quickly running to the door grabbing the handle Mishi's scream shaking me from head to toe like she is hurt. Running in through the corridor to the living room I saw a table lying to the ground, a lot of glass scattered to the floor and Mishi lying on the floor her arm spread out, blood started spreding from her head and her leg had pieces of glasses cut through the skin. She looked at me as her eyes slowly closed and she fainted. Running to her I now realized that Nayel was also there who bent to her calling out her name. I instantly dialed on my phone "Hello 911,We need an ambulance!"
