Teresa watched her father's coffin go six feet under. She heard Kellin Quinn sing his song. 'Roger Rabbit' , her father's favorite song.
He would say that if he ever did die..to have this song play at his funeral. Giovanni had pulled a couple strings and had him sing personally at Eric's funeral.
* Flashback *
"Hey Mom..are you still coming?" Teresa asked her mother over the phone.
She sighed. "No baby I'm sorry, maybe I'll come see you next year... I have an important job that I have to do and I can't miss it."
Juliana said making up yet another excuse. She was really going on a date and couldn't bail.
"Oh..right." Teresa mumbled. She looked up at her Dad that was attempting to bake a cake.
He cracked an egg too hard on the counter and it splattered everywhere.
"Yea..but I'll send you some money. I love you though. Happy birthday sweetie." Teresa nodded.
"Love you too." She mumbled. Juliana hung up the phone and Teresa sighed.
"Another excuse?" Eric asked. Teresa nodded sitting the house phone down. "Yea."
Eric looked up at her and sighed. "It's alright." Teresa shook her head. "I might as well stop calling her, I mean what's the point?"
She asked. "She's your mother." Teresa shook her head again. "Your playing both roles." Teresa said.
Eric smiled. Teresa stood up and walked into the kitchen with her father.
She looked down at the cake mix and scrunched her nose up. "You put too much lemon Daddy." Eric sucked his teeth.
"Let's just go out and order you a cheesecake." Teresa nodded. "Thank you so much."
Eric washed his hands off. Teresa went to grab her jacket when a small box fell on the floor.
It was a white box with a red bow. 'Happy Birthday' was written in a sloppy cursive handwriting. Teresa instantly knew it was from her father.
She picked it up and opened it up to see a locket. Eric peeked around the corner and smiled.
She opened the locket and saw a picture of her when she was a baby and a picture of Eric reading to her as a baby.
