KATHLEEN stood up from her seat, draping her cardigan on it. She was dressed in her Malory Towers uniform. She went to join her three sisters, Heather, Cherry and Morgan. They all greeted her, Cherry also wearing identical clothing.
"Golly, Kathleen! We shall be going to the same school as mother and aunt Felicity!" Cherry widened her eyes, grinning at the same time. Just then, Darrell and Felicity Rivers appeared in the room.
"Hallo, girls!" Darrell's younger sister grinned at the two 12-year-olds and Heather. "You shall be continuing the legacy of Rivers at Malory Towers!"
"You mean the Herradays," Darrell said, punching her in the arm.
"Of course, you're engaged! I do keep forgetting since I have been engaged longer!"
"Mrs Clark, you shut your mouth about all that!"
"Oi, oi, Miss Rivers, my wedding has not been yet! Boy, do I envy you two girls right now."
"I can't wait to be your bridesmaid," Kathleen sighed dreamily.
"Too true, little Kathleen!"
"Don't 'little Kathleen' me! I'm a big girl now - I'm going to big school!"
"Right again!"
"When shall Heather, Morgan and Faith be joining?"
"Well, Heather and Morgan will be when you are in the 3rd, Faith in the 5th."
"OK!" Cherry happily accepted this answer, skipping to join her sisters again.
"Anyways, you two had better be going now!" Darrell kissed them both on the cheeks. "I would do anything do be with you on your first day, but your father and I must be going to work!"
Felicity nodded. "I'm taking you, come along!" She took the three girls into her car and waved goodbye to Darrell before starting her engine and disappearing.
