Meet My Family

Chapter 4

As soon as detention is over, I wave at Hikles and walk out with Alec trailing close behind. "I can't believe our math teacher wasn't here today! It's the first fricken day of school!" Alec rants. I roll my eyes, nodding my head. We walk up to my black Cadillac and hop in. Alec cranks the music up so much that it almost hurts. He starts singing along to random pop and rap songs while I'm laughing.

I pull up to the Ryder house and Alec opens the door. "Don't miss me too much!" he teased. I roll my eyes and drive away without a word. As I drive along, I wonder what Sage and Ty are doing at school. I love my brother and sister to death and I would do anything for them.

When I pull into my garage, I slam the door and sprint into my room which is on the second floor, right above the garage. When I arrive, I drop my bag and walk into my walk-in closet. I find a cute pale blue, sleeveless blouse and short denim shorts, and walk into my bathroom. I strip out of my black, studded crop-top and black, studded shorts and change into the blouse and shorts. I turn to the mirror after throwing my clothes into the hamper and sigh. "Why do I wear so much make-up?" I ask myself washing off the thick, black eyeliner, the dark mascara, the dark grey eyeshadow, the pale powder and the black lipstick. I run my fingers through my black and red wig and pull it off. I pull my dirty blonde hair out of it's bun and let it fall to my tailbone after yanking all the fake rings off my ears. My bangs frame my tanned face, blue-grey-green-hazel eyes and my red lips... And my diamond nose stud. I then reapply some mascara and walk into my room to start my homework. Why there is homework on the first day of school is beyond me. Sighing, I grab my bag and take out the homework.

After about an hour of homework, my iPhone bings from somewhere under my pillows. I'd just finished my homework and was relieved that the twins would be home in a few minutes. I look down at my phone and smirk. We saw The Monsters' bus... WE'RE COMING OVER! It was from Luke. Alec and Luke both call Sage and Tyler The Monsters because well, I don't know why but they do. The 5 of us are close even though Sage and Ty are 9 years younger than us. It's cute because Alec is always a perverted jackass but around the twins, he's super goofy and childish. Luke is always caring and sweet. They treat them like they're their own siblings. It's cute to watch.

In a span of about 10.5 seconds, the front door opened and slammed shut, a few bags/ jackets were dropped and I was tackled by two 9 year olds and two 17 year olds. "HI KESI!!!!!!!!!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!" Sage, Tyler, Alec and Luke yelled. "I missed you too!" I chuckled. Alec pulled Sage onto his back and stood up. Luke did the same to Ty. "Wow, thanks." I muttered pushing myself up. Alec put Sage on Luke's back and then pulled me onto his back. "Alexander Matthew Ryder what the hell are you doing?" I ask confused. Luke and the twins nod at Alec and they all run into the backyard towards uh-oh.... The pool! Luke jumped in with Ty and Sage while Alec dived in with me still on his back. I open my eyes and glared at Alec. I swam to the surface of the water and splashed Alec who was laughing his ass off. "Lucas Zachary Ryder and Alexander Matthew Ryder why in this world would you throw me into the pool?!?" I ask stepping closer to them. "It was Ty's idea!" Sage squeaked. I turned to my brother and started tickling him. "I-I-I' he stuttered laughing. Luke came up behind me and started tickling me as I let go of Tyler. "LUKE!!!" I scream thrashing about kicking him in the head twice. He stops and backs up rubbing his head "Kesi, your kicks hurt like a bit-". "Language." I deadpan. Alec is doubled over laughing at Luke and I. I smirk and climb out of the pool grabbing a few towels from the pool hut.

After drying off, we all just laid down on the grass staring up at the sky. I smile thinking about how much we all care for each other, even after all the crap we've been through. My thoughts wander to thinking about a certain brown haired and blue eyed boy. Dagon. I should text him. I reach for my phone that was -thankfully- dropped onto the pool deck before I was thrown into my pool. 'Hey, want to hang out later?' I text hoping he'll say yes. 'Sure. Where do you live?' he texts back in a few seconds. I give him my address and turn to talk to the 2 sets of twins. "Guys, Dagon will be coming over in a few minutes. Be nice." I say directing the last part to Alec. "Who's Dragon? Is he your boyfriend?" Ty asks teasingly. "He's a boy from school. And his name is Dagon, not Dragon." I add the last part a few seconds later. Alec stands and stretches, his shirt lifting a little. "When did you start working out?" I ask staring at his toned abs. "Why? Do you like what you see?" he asks smirking. I roll my eyes "No, I was just wondering...". " It's been about 2 mont-" he was cut off by the doorbell.

I sprint to the front door after telling the boys and Sage to stay in the backyard. I open the door at an amazed Dagon. "Oh, I'm sorry, I must be at the wrong house... Do you know where the Thompsons live?" he asks after spotting me. "Dagon, it's me, Ke-Scout." I stammer. "No, she has shortish black and red hair... And very pale skin..." he trails off. "Dagon I promise it's me." I say motioning him to enter. He nods and enters. "Hey Dagon!" Alec, Luke, Ty and Sage chirp. "Okay, I now believe you're you..." Dagon says eyeing Alec.

~Dagon's POV~

"I'm Sage!" a little girl chirps who looks around 10. She has long blonde hair that is a bit lighter that Scout's, bright green eyes and a small statue. I smile at her. "I'm Tyler." a boy who looks around Sage's age adds. He has chocolately hair much like mine that's styled into a mohawk, the same blue-green-grey-hazel eyes as Scout and a small statue just like Sage. The same boy that was sitting with Scout at lunch nods at me. Luke's his name I think. He has short blonde hair, grey eyes and small shoulders. He is about my height. "Alec's the name." another boy around my age speaks up. He has jet black hair, bright blue eyes and a muscular build. He's a few inches taller than me. "Dagon, Alec and Luke are twins, just like Sage and Ty. They're our age." Scout informs me. I nod. She looks so much different than before. Her hair is long and dirty blonde, her eyes are the same -blue/green/grey/hazel-, her lips are cherry red and her skin is tanned. She's good looking for sure. "Let's go outside!" Sage yells running to where I assume the backyard is. She is shortly followed by Tyler, Luke and Alec. "Come on!" Scout pleads running after them. I follow her without a second thought.

When we arrived in the backyard, I gasp "This is huge!". Scout just laughs and runs to the pool, jumping in followed by the 4 others. I walk to the edge and jump. The water engulfs me and I feel like I did when I tried to drowned myself. I quickly swim to the surface and climb out. Scout climbs out and sits next to me. "Don't like swimming?" she asks. If only she knew...

I stare off into space as Scout hops back into the pool. I wonder if I can trust her. I bet she'll leave once she learns about my past...
