The air grew frigid. My hands shook hesitantly to pull the trigger of my rifle. The doe looked so innocent to be taken in an instant by one man's hunger. I contemplate yet more. "Should I kill her"? She most likely had a family. Could I take that from her? My hunger still consumed me. Long it had been since I tasted the sweet venison. And my fish supply was running low. I could never tell how long it would be for the river to freeze to a solid-state so I could walk on it, in hopes of catching some fish. "I can not live much longer without any nutrition". Besides, I also had my wife and my Alaskan malamute, Moose to take care of. That was the justifying thought. I took the shot.

I hoped death would take her quickly. Hating to see a creature in pain. I wait a while longer, Climb down the tree and follow the trail of Carmine snow. knowing I had to hurry and dress this deer if I was to return back to the cabin by nightfall, I gutted the deer and proceeded to walk home trudging along until falling in the nearly frozen river. Almost freezing to death the several miles l walked after that.

When I arrived back at the cabin, Moose greeted me as usual, wagging his tail and licking the blood off my boots. My wife Emily, looked at me. " Joshua! what on earth happened to you?" She asked. Her mahogany eyes narrowed with anger when I didn't respond. I only quickly changed my clothing and took a seat by the fire. " Fine! Be like that! I'm going to get more wood for that fire you are obviously enjoying. " Emily angerly shouted, her small feet stomping on the Oakwood floors as She walked outside.  It wasn't long before I heard her scream.  I grabbed my rifle and ran to find her.
