English class. Cyrus' favorite part of the day. Why? Because he got to sit next to Jonah Beck.

Jonah was Cyrus' only male friend, and Cyrus was Jonah's only real friend. After Andi stopped being friends with him, everybody else stopped being Jonah's friend, too. Everyone but Cyrus.

"Cy-Guy! What's up?" Jonah asked, smiling.

"Oh, u-uh, nothing J-Jo...Jo-Bro. What's up with you...man?" This happened almost every time Cyrus talked to Jonah. He figured that if he talked like Jonah, Jonah would stay his friend.

"Cyrus, please, just be yourself. I don't like it when you try to be something you're not. You're awesome. What's been going on?"

"Just thinking about...people," Cyrus said, sitting down. He opened his notebook and started writing, trying to avoid Jonah.

"Like...girl people?" Cyrus couldn't help giggling. Jonah was such a dork.

"Actually, boy...boy people," Cyrus confessed, feeling like he was about to faint.

"Cool. Do I know the boy you're thinking about?" Cyrus' eyes widened. His worst nightmare had come to life.

"Y-yeah."

"Oh...I get it." What? There was no possible way Jonah knew right away.

"You like Marty!" Jonah exclaimed. Cyrus sighed out of relief, even though Jonah was completely wrong.

Just as Cyrus was about to tell Jonah that he didn't like Marty, their teacher walked in. Great.
This was the first time in his entire life that Cyrus didn't want to be at school.

"For today's assignment, I want you to write about someone you have strong feelings for. It could be a parent, a crush, a friend, whoever you want it to be. Then, after thirty minutes, you're going to share your writing with the class," The teacher explained. Cyrus smiled. This was the perfect way to tell Jonah how he felt. Hopefully.

The thirty minutes flew by. By the time Cyrus had to stop writing, he barely said what he had to say.

Cyrus honestly enjoyed listening to what other people had to say. He loved getting to hear what was going on inside other people's heads.

"Cyrus, you're up," The teacher said, taking Cyrus out of his train of thought. His stomach was doing flips. He had never been more nervous in his entire life, and that's saying a lot.

"I like you. A lot. I like helping you out during your games. I like when you call me Cy-Guy. I love your smile. It could light up the darkest room. You would never feel the same way about me because you like my friend. But you're my best friend. So...thanks, I guess." Cyrus felt like his head was spinning. Jonah was looking at him differently then normal. It was the exact same way Cyrus looked at him.

Cyrus walked back to his seat, the class clapping. He looked at Buffy and smiled. She was the only one who knew about Cyrus' crush.

"Was that about Jonah?" Buffy mouthed. Cyrus nodded and sat down in his seat.

The rest of class was spent listening to what everyone else had to say. Cyrus could barely pay attention, though. All he could think about was Jonah. When the bell finally rang, Cyrus nearly ran out of the classroom.

"Cyrus! Dude, can we talk?" Jonah called. Cyrus turned his head back and just looked at Jonah.

"Can we talk?" Jonah asked, walking towards the other boy. Cyrus turned to face Jonah and nodded.

"What you said in class...I-I know that was about...me. Oh my gosh. Cyrus...you...you like me." Cyrus almost started crying right there in front of Jonah. He was about to get rejected. In front of all the kids who were watching.

"Jonah-" Cyrus was cut off by Jonah's lips crashing onto his. This was actually happening. Jonah Beck was kissing him. Cyrus pulled away, blushing.

"Why did you do that?"

"Because I like you too. Do you maybe wanna go...go out with me?" Jonah asked, taking Cyrus' hands into his own. Cyrus nodded as Jonah pulled him into another kiss.

Just another reason for english to be Cyrus' favorite class.
