Prologue

Narrator's Point Of View (POV)

Georgie Harriet, 17, the middle child to a family of five. Her parents were not divorced, she loved her sister (her brother not so much) she had normal grades, and enough friends to last her a lifetime. But she was still not satisfied.

She had a pretty normal life but, for some reason she was always depressed. She blamed it all on school. She has normal grades but that wasn't enough for her parents. She was friends with everyone but didn't have an actual friend who she could tell just about everything to. She couldn't keep her mind set on work, it wasn't her fault she had the world's most shortest attention span. She hated how abnormal she thought she was, although there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. She thought it was just a phase but its been seven whole years already! She just got stressed out about anything. She would have these really random mental break downs in her room and would often scream in her pillow about how bad her life was. When she told her 'friends' they would always do the thing she hated most, they would try to compare their life to hers. They would always say "oh ya! well I have a shittier life! my boyfriend wont text me back!" or "I'ts not just you. I hate my life too". Why couldn't they just be normal friends and just say they felt bad for her and change the subject rather than weep about their perfect life. But then Georgie realized that she must of looked and acted the exact same way the friends acted with her. They might of been annoyed about her blabbering about her perfect life. She did have a perfect life but why couldn't she accept it. Why wasn't she satisfied.

She was just a junior waiting for the school year to end.

The year was slowly coming to an end and summer was finally in her grasp. She tried her best to cling onto it but before she knew it there was only a month left. One month wasn't enough.

So the next morning she logged on to her tumblr and updated her status. After five minutes she got annoyed and bored. What was she doing with her summer! She thought. She hated when she got distracted. She put her laptop aside and stood up and grabbed the nearest thing, her brush. She stood in front of her mirror. Instead of looking for all the beautiful things on her bodies she looked for all her flaws. The first thing she looked at were her this thighs, but for the first time in a while she ignored them and walked in the living room to see if the rest of the family was awake. No, they were still asleep. Suddenly, Georgie felt tired and wanted to crawl back in bed and sleep again. She did have a pretty good dream and would love to get back to it but now wasn't the time, she thought. She wanted to do something she wouln't normally do.

She walked to the kitchen and opened the freezer. She looked around and found a large bag of organic frozen berries. Definitely something she wouldn't eat but why not try something new. She walked toward the kitchen cabinet and grabbed a large bowl and emptied the frozen berries into the bowl. She grabbed a couple of berries and plopped them in her mouth. She could feel the ice melt in her mouth as the red juicy berries burst into all sorts of flavors into her mouth. Before she knew it she was down to the last berryand with one swallow they were all gone.

She like the idea of trying new things because so far she was really enjoying it. She jogged to her room and decided to make a mini day planner. She never tried this before so she wasn't exactly sure how these worked. So instead of actually looking up how to make a planner and be organized all kinds of sorts she just scribbled down a bunch of things she wanted to do today.

1) Try all sorts of food I never had the guts to eat

2) Call up random contacts I have on my phone

3) Make breakfast

4) Read a little bit of Divergent (Start from the beginning of the book. I forgot everything...)
