The Merry Band

The Ironically dead necromancer

The merry band looked up in confusion as they watched the ominous black cloud approaching. It had the type of speed that made people suspicious. They all looked at each other with confusion accept for Ashtyn and Kitten. "Just rain." They both said matter of factly.

As they approached the Necromancer's dark tower they soon came to realize it was not "just rain". Dark black liquid started to pour from the sky, it stung the skin of The Merry Band harshly. Ethan yelled, "I GOT IT!" and his shield horse turned into a giant umbrella for the whole Band.

Kitten looked up at the ominous edgy tower concerned. "So um....you guys are just going to go up there? With no plan?" The majority of the group nodded. Kitten was a small bit surprised and then looked at Ashtyn as if questioning if they were actually going to do this. "Seriously?" Everyone nodded as Ethan sprinted in with his sword hammer swinging at everything. Kitten sighed and face palmed, her eyes turning electric blue as a stream of blue energy came into her hands and circuits appeared on her face.

All nine of them ran into the tower screaming. First was Ethan the Paladin. Next was Wilburn the SpeedDemon. Then Autumn the Pyromancer and Jacie the Archer. Will the Cryomancer followed close behind. Running up behind him were Kitten the Warrior and Ashtyn the Technomancer. They were followed in by Joshua the Thief and, in dead last as always, was Ethan's Squire, Tanner.

Ethan started to hit skeletons with his sword hammer them shattering.  Will and Autumn froze and burned the skeletons. They cracked under the pressure. Kitten waved her hand and skeletons flew at the wall and shattered. The necromancer at the top of the tower hit his crystal ball with his fist hard. The crystal ball broke as his voice boomed "They shall never take my power!!!" He growled grabbing his staff beginning to prepare for battle.

Tanner tripped in and watched in awe with an arm full of swords. He knew one day Ethan would be the best warrior in the kingdom. He watched as ethan swung his sword hammer and copied his motions with the swords he was holding, almost falling over due to the weight and size of them. He wanted to be just like Ethan.

Wilburn ran as quick as he could in a circle creating a great tornado that swept up all the skeletons. Meanwhile Ashtyn used some of the Necromancer's magic junk that was lying around to create a makeshift bomb. He threw the bomb into the tornado blowing the skeletons to pieces.

The entire merry band looked in awe as the skeletons exploded. "But...how?!!" Autumn asked confused. Kitten wondered if they should tell the truth. How would the band take them being from the future? Kitten stayed quiet in this moment impressed by what Ashtyn and Wilburn had done. Tanner watched amazed at the fact that Ethan even existed, and not the tornado. Autumn and Will looked at each other confused as everyone looked for an explanation, accept for Tanner. Jacie lowered her bow in silence her eyes intense. It seemed as if she was focused on something else, something in the distance. Sometimes Kitten wondered if Jacie was one of the earliest psychics, but she was too scared to ask. Jacie seemed so intense.

While everyone was in awe of the explosion, Joshua snuck off to grab some loot. While looking for loot he stumbled upon the Necromancer's chamber. Joshua saw a bottle of poison lying next to the Necromancer's belt, which contained a healing potion. Joshua took the healing potion and poured it out, replacing it with the poison. Joshua heard the Necromancer coming and quickly ran back into the room with the rest of The Merry Band. Joshua had been so silent and sneaky that no one had even noticed his absence.

Slowly the merry band fought up towards the top where the Necromancer was. The necromancers voice could be heard booming as they got closer. "Death shall sweep across the kingdom!!! I shall make life fall on it's knees!! The world will belong to me!! Finally after all these years!!" As they finally got to the top of the tower, a trail of dust and bone fragments behind them, They saw the almighty necromancer.

Kitten started twitching, she would overheat soon for sure, but she didn't care. She had to save as many as she could. A burst of electric blue energy Burst out of her hand holding him up against the wall. "Go!!" She yelled to signal the team as she struggled to stay in control. The necromancer had started to pull up his hand aiming it towards Kitten. The Necromancer fired a bolt of dark energy at Kitten, throwing her at the wall.

Ashtyn ran over to help her but she was out cold. The rest of the team fought valiantly against The Necromancer, and they started to wear him down. With the last bit of energy he had left he sent out a shockwave knocking the entire Merry Band down. He reached for his belt grabbing the healing potion. He drank the entire bottle. The Necromancer laughed, "Haha, you fools with never defeat..." and with that he passed out onto the ground. Ethan yelled, "We killed The Necromancer!" And Joshua replied, "Kinda ironic isn't it?"

Kitten was pale against the cold dark wall her breathing unsteady. She looked barely alive. As the necromancer fell and hit the ground the sky started to clear as the sun started to shine upon the merry band. Kitten was still against the wall seemingly in the same condition as the circuits slowly started to fade and disappear. The band all had their different reactions to the irony, some laughing, others thinking about it and then laughing, and Jacie who just nodded and lowered her bow silently.

Ashtyn tried to pick up Kitten, but failed. Ethan saw this, walked over and picked her up easily. "Lets get out of this place!" Ethan yelled. As the rest of the Band walked out, Jacie saw a small shiny object tucked into The Necromancer's robes and picked it up, catching up to the  rest of the group afterwards.The Band made their way through back the corridors and chambers of the tower until they finally reached the exit. The sun was setting. "Lets set up camp outside the tower for the night," Ashtyn said throwing a small object onto the ground which spewed out 9 tents.

Ethan lightly placed Kitten in one of them and then went to sit by the fire Autumn had created after Ashtyn set up the tents.  The merry band settled in for the night, simply enjoying each other's company, as they talked about the events of the day. Kittens face was still pale, but her breathing was starting to even out, and the color started to return to her face. The merry band soon went to sleep peacefully, to prepare themselves for the travel that was soon to come.
