TIME SETTING: A week or two after Percy and Annabeth start dating. They take a train home to see Percy's mom on the weekend to visit.

PERCY'S POV:

I was a new boyfriend, and the only reason my Mom hadn't found that fact out yet is because I'm in Camp Half-Blood. And as a new boyfriend, it is definitely not great to leave your girlfriend behind at camp to go see your parents who don't know your dating her. I mean, it's not like Sally and Paul don't know who Annabeth is, I mean, they LOVE her more than they love me, and they'd be excited.

And it's not the 'telling them that Annabeth is my girlfriend' that worries me, it's the reaction to 'Annabeth is my girlfriend' that does. It would be super embarrassing. But it's better to get it over with now. And it's best they know.

I first have to make the call, of course.

"Hellooo, it's Sally. Who's this?"

"Hey Mom!"

"Percyyy! So your going to see me today, right? Paul and I are so excited!"

"Me too. I have a question though. Can, um, can... Annabeth come?"

"Annabeth? Of course she can! Is that even a question?!"

"Great! Thanks Mom! By-"

"Before you go, tell me, does Annabeth not want to see her Dad? Did something happen?"

"No, it's not like that at all! She just... uh, she misses you guys too."

"Uh, okay, sweetie. We miss her too. I'll see you soon!"

"Bye Mom!"

I put the phone down, and Annabeth is frowning at me. "Why did you say I'm coming only because I missed your parents? Even though I do, it makes me sound a little creepy," she said. "I know, I'm sorry. She said she misses you too, if it makes you feel any better," I said, taking her hand.

It still felt new to just be able to do things like that instead of just wishing I could. "It doesn't," she said replying huffily to what I had said before, but she was smiling, so I knew she wasn't mad.

We were on a train back to New York City, where my apartment was. "So how are we going to tell her?" Annabeth says randomly when I'm eating a bag of chips. "Huh?" I ask blankly. Hey, I'm not a mind reader. Though I wish I was when it came to Annabeth. She let go of my hand. "About us, Seaweed Brain!" she says, looking annoyed, but the slight hint of a blush is dusted onto her cheeks.

Ohhh. She's talking about telling my Mom about us, and I feel her blush slightly catch my cheeks, too. Okay, a LOT catch my cheeks too. "Oh, uh, we can think of something. Maybe we don't have to directly tell her... maybe we could just show her signs..." I said. "Like what?" Annabeth's eyes were twinkling, and for some reason, I really felt like kissing her right there and then. But that was still a really bold thing to do, because I've never been the one to really initiate the kisses before. Like we've really only kissed twice after the underwater one, one being a quick peck on the cheek from Annabeth and once because we had a fight and it being also another peck on the cheek as forgiveness from her.

I took Annabeth's hand back in mine. "Like this," I said. "And..." she said, scooting a little closer. My heart was now going at a million miles per hour. "And..." I said, feeling my body leaning closer, pretending like it actually knew how to function right now. My fingers reached for her chin, lifting it up, and holding the side of her face steady and slightly tilting mine, my lips pressed against hers, and a million fireworks went off in my brain. I was kissing Annabeth again. My head was fuzzy, and I don't think I could feel my heart anymore, I think it exploded.

She wraps her arms around my neck, pulling us closer and steadying herself, and I fully dispose of the distance between us by taking the hand that was not on her cheek and putting it around her waist.

I feel the train pull to a stop, but there's still no reason to stop kissing her. The sound of the train doors slide open, and I hear a squeal, and a high pitched voice yelling, "PERCY!!!! YOUR KISSING ANNABETH!!! OH ALL MY HOPES HAVE COME TRUE!!!!!!! THIS SO CUTE AWWWWW!!!"

Horrified to hear my Mom's voice, Annabeth and I quickly pull apart and separate, to see Mom standing there, her hands clutched together at her chest, and Paul with his mouth open. "Mom!" my face is so red I'm sure you could mistake it for a firetruck.

We quickly get out of the train, and Sally gives Annabeth and I one big hug. "Oh, congratulations!! To the happy couple!" she said, as if we were getting married. This is what I was worried about. Annabeth is the pinkest I've ever seen her. "Sally, I'm so-"

"So happy for you!" Sally smiled, "I knew that's why you were coming over! To tell me about your new relationship! What did I tell you, Paul!?" she was nudging Paul. "Um, yeah. Congrats you two!" Paul said. I wanted to crawl into the ground and die.

"What are you doing in the train station, Mom? I thought you were going to wait for us in the apartment," I said. "And risk missing your little makeout session on the train? No way!" Mom said teasingly. "It wasn't really a make-" Annabeth begins, still looking more than embarrassed, but Mom cuts her off again: "Oh, come on guys! We've got so much to talk about!"

I am so never bringing Annabeth home again. Only if we're alone.
