It's Just A Book (smut)

A/N: Here's another draft that I wrote a while ago - it was incomplete but I finished it up because I got a lot of requests for an update :)

It's kind of a half smut. If you're not comfortable with this stuff, then don't read. I'm going to reply to as many comments as I can!

Timeline: After Percabeth gets back from the war with Gaea and are headed back home. They first stop in Rome before going back to Long Island to return to Camp Half-Blood.

ANNABETH POV

The war was finally over, and Annabeth finally felt at peace. She and Percy had made plans to finish high school in Manhattan and then go to New Rome for college. Though it wasn't exactly home yet, Annabeth loved Rome - and she was especially glad the Argo II had stopped there to visit Camp Jupiter before sailing back to Camp Half-Blood.

She and Piper were taking a stroll down the cobblestone streets of Rome's ancient city - Piper had dragged her to the shopping area because she had recently found out that Aphrodite had owned a hair salon there. It acted as a regular hair salon, but once the nymphs that ran it recognized you as a demigod, they'd take you to a different area to do up your hair with all of Aphrodite's special enchantments.

"Ooh, Annabeth, look! I found it!" she said excitedly, pointing in the direction of a salon with a name that read "Beauty Queen's Braids & Buns". Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Could your mom be a little more subtle?" 

"Gods, I'm excited. Are you going to come in with me?" Piper asked, giving her doe eyes. The more Annabeth looked at the salon, the more tempting it got. "You better not be charmspeaking, McClean. No way I'm stepping a foot in there," Annabeth said, and then looked over to the shop beside it. There was a quaint bookstore right beside it, "You get your hair done - and I'll be in the shop right next to you." Piper followed the direction of where Annabeth was looking and groaned. "Books? You're so boring. Okay, well, I'm going in!" Piper told her, and almost sprinted to the salon.

 Annabeth walked into the bookstore, and was immediately thrilled to see the tall shelves and the vastness of the store. She hadn't had time to get herself into a good book, and she was now finally able to engage herself. After Tartarus, she think she'd deserved it. There were so many options, she didn't know where to start. Then she found a section called, "How To..." 

Annabeth laughed. There was almost nothing that a mortal could learn to do that she couldn't. Other than overcome a fear of spiders. But for amusement's sake, she looked over the shelves to see what purchases mortals made. "How To Cook Like a Pro." "How To Apply Makeup Like A Beauty Guru." "How To Fix Tricky Home Appliances."

Hm. Maybe she didn't know everything. Annabeth continued to browse through the selection of books until her eyes landed on "How To Please Your Partner". She thought about her and Percy... with him going missing for six months, and the constant monsters thrown at them, they never really got time to... explore. Each other. 

She picked up the book and flipped through the pages. There was a male section and a women's section, and in both... there were a lot of sex tips. She blushed even thinking about her and Percy doing any of these. Out of pure curiosity, or that's what Annabeth told herself, she sat down and read through a few pages.

She eventually ended up buying the book and hiding it from Piper, and decided to hide it in her room in the Argo II - but couldn't explain to herself why.

PERCY POV

Annabeth had been gone "shopping" the whole day with Piper, while he was stuck at Camp Jupiter going through a bunch of meetings and signing "magical documents" because he was resigning as Praetor. By the end of the day, he just wanted to relax and never do anything again. But Leo wanted to play a board game, so that's what he'd been doing as the afternoon turned to evening.
