Time Context: When Percabeth first started dating
ANNABETH POV
It was a chilly night at Camp Half-Blood, and she was locked out of her cabin. She couldn't believe she had found herself in such a sticky predicament... Literally. The Stoll Brothers had recently received a new weird gift from their Dad, Hermes; super sticky syrup. They had decided to use the magical syrup to glue Cabin 6's door shut, knowing Annabeth is usually the last to enter the cabin to go to bed because she often spends the last hour of the day on the beach with Percy.
Annabeth had become the victim of this practical joke because she'd sort of tricked Connor during Capture The Flag into revealing the location of his team's flag and then gloated about it. She meant it harmlessly. This joke, however: not so harmless. She didn't feel like she deserved to spend the night freezing outside, and she had half the mind to march up to the Big House and tell Chiron. But if there was one thing Annabeth wasn't, it was a snitch. Or a coward.
She thought about sleeping on the beach, but that's when it struck her... Percy. It was completely against camp rules for them to be alone in a cabin together, let alone spend the night. It was a crazy idea, but when Annabeth's shoulders began to shiver, she realized she'd have to deal with the embarrassment of showing up at his door.
She stepped off the porch in front of Cabin 6, and to her humiliation, a whole bucket of maple syrup poured down on her head, drenching her. She wanted to scream - she was going to kill those Stolls. She took her invisibility cap - now dripping in syrup - out of her back shorts pocket and put it on her head, and marched over to Cabin 3.
She took her cap off and knocked on the door aggressively, wanting nothing more than to feel some warmth. She heard a lot of grumbling, and then the door swung open to a sleepy Percy. His hair was messy from dreaming, and his eyelids drooped down low from tiredness. Annabeth thought he looked pretty cute. And most noticeably, he was standing there in nothing but a pair of blue boxers, which made her blush furiously.
"Ungh- Annabeth? What are you doing here?" he rubbed his eyes, and then did a double-take as his sight adjusted, "What happened to you?"
"The Stoll Brothers. Some kind of practical joke. They glued the cabin door shut, and soaked me in maple syrup," she explained. Percy shuddered. "Gods, you must be freezing! Do you... um, do you want to come inside?" he asked, stepping aside to invite her in. "Yes, please," she said, and rushed into the cabin.
Percy closed the cabin door behind them, "Do you need help or something? If it's glue, I'll just use some water to loosen up the sides and then we can open the door," he said. "That's the thing - the glue was a gift from Hermes. It's enchanted, I'm pretty sure. There's nothing we could do other than wait until the morning when Chiron finds out," she told him. "Oh," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "So I was wondering if I could...um... could I sleep here?" she asked him, trying her best not to blush again. Percy however, was failing at that.
"I mean... yeah, sure... Tyson hasn't been here in awhile, so you could definitely take his bed if you want. You could sneak out in the morning. Do you want to take a shower first? I'll give you something to sleep in," he told her, and she nodded gratefully. He turned red as he realized his own state of undress and quickly began blubbering, "Annabeth, I swear I don't sleep like this usually - I was just tired and -"
