I wonder how many people noticed that I replaced the word couch with coach in the last 2 chapters? I wonder how many people are mad? :)
(The Narrator)
Some how I managed to get away with what I did. No one questioned it, and many people begged for my help. From cleaning out houses, parks, abandoned houses, stores, hell even the church would ask for my help. But I was the best at what I did, no matter how dangerous, crazy, or impossible. I was able to fix it. When things went wrong, they called for my name. But not everyone needed my help, not everyone was stupid with what they did, hell there were many beings that did much bigger things then I started out doing. Just the work alone provided me a way to live. So when it came right down too it...The world that I called reality was much different then I betrayed it. Was I the good guy? The villain? No... Not good, not evil... just as balanced as I could be. I could never say that I wasn't just a bit sick and twisted though, no matter how good I tried to be... I was still me. Yet some how I was missing something, like there was a much bigger picture to what I did that even I didn't know. And that was one of my most favorite things to research, trying to see the bigger picture other then the things I did and what I effected, I knew that it was never all about me. But what was the bigger picture? Better yet...What was it that I did?(Jeff's Pov)
Alone in the large square room, sitting on the bed that was in the top right corner of my room. The covers on the bed today were a mix of black and red. The floors were covered with black carpet, while my walls were painted white. It was a simple room, my closet door was in the top left corner, while the bathroom door was in the bottom left corner, and the door that lead into the mansions hallways was in the middle of the back wall, there was also a window in the middle of the left wall. I had a black dresser in the top left corner beside the closet, where I kept the weapons that I collected over the years. I had another small dresser beside my bed, where I kept a small black lamp, then there was a black dresser mirror in the bottom right corner of the room. Beside the window was a large book shelf, it was nothing compared to how many books Slender had in his lounge room, but there were quite a few that I had kept over the years. Some books about basic magicks, some where old comic books, then there were a few horror novels, as well as a few books that talked about the history of weapons and this world. The books in this part of the world were much different, some books were from 1000s of years ago, while others were more recent. An old wooden desk was in front of the window, a few pins and pencils beside a note book I kept there, I had a new black leather chair in front of that desk, I had to get a new one because I broke the last one, and no it wasn't because of my weight. It was just old. I had my hands behind my head as I rested my head on the wall while I sat up in the bed. I was wearing my white hoodie, and black jeans, along with my black sneakers like I usually did, I had a few other outfits I liked to wear, but this one was simple and easier to deal with.
I had been thinking about it all day. What happened yesterday. How was she able to escape? How did she manage to even put up the strength in order to keep moving. I stabbed her arm, bad enough that my knife should have ended up going out the other side of her arm. But she kept trying, she kept running. She said she didn't care about dying, yet she was still fighting for her own life! I didn't understand, but the thing that had to confuse me the most was why she wouldn't scream, no matter how many of her tears fell...she refused to scream...it was like she had done this before. How was she able to handle that kind of pain? She couldn't have been immortal, because if she was her laughter would have made since to me...but she could have died. She knew this, she knew that her life could have ended, but she still laughed along with me. How could she have no care for her own life, and still fight to survive? If she didn't really care, then what was keeping her motivated to keep trying? What was the motivation to keep moving? Friends? Family?...No there had to be something more to it. I would sigh " Dam it...Why does this bother me so much? Why am I trying to understand?" I would ask myself in a sighing tone as I would get off my bed and start walking to the door that lead into the hallway. I decided I would go to the living room and see if there was anything interesting happening today. There was something that people didn't know about us, the creepy pastas where a little more then different from what people had thought. For one, most of us were immortal. No that didn't mean we were invincible, it just meant we couldn't die. An immortal was someone who earned their right to walk the earth and keep the knowledge they gained. There were many complicated things that came with it, our bodies could be destroyed, but no matter what we would always come back, looking the same, acting the same, and still learning like everyone else did. Many immortals practiced magick, and I was one of them. In fact most of the creepy pastas practiced magick. How do you think we can get away with the things we did? We had many things that could cover our tracks. But there were even more complicated things we were involved in. What we did, killing people, capture and tormenting people, we did these things to the name of the person we were told to get. These people, were people who were trying to avoid their karma, and some where people messing with the magick realms, or people who tried to harm us. We didn't just randomly kill people for the hell of it, but we weren't the best kind of people to piss off, or mess with. After all my years I became known as Jeff the killer. Though my friends just call me Jeff. What was strange or impossible to most people, I knew was possible, and I did have my own problems, but by this point we all accepted the way we were. I was one of the only human immortals here, so I was more then happy with who I was, because in this day and age, it was rare to find a human immortal. I would look over at the couch as I walked down the stairs, and sitting there was BEN, who was wearing the same thing he wore yesterday. Most of the others were upstairs around this time, it was 11am. BEN would look over towards me as I walked over to him" Hey man, how are you feeling?" BEN would ask in a casual and calm tone. I would look over at the front doors" I'm...I'm doing great BEN." I would say in a calm and sighing tone" Your still thinking about that girl aren't you?" BEN would ask bluntly. I would look at him and sigh" Yes. I'm think about the girl BEN. Everyone is." I would say in a slightly annoyed tone" Hmm...Yeah, she certainly was strange. Not many people can really get away from us, and not many people have ever been able to escape this place before. The way she acted even made Slender curios, which is rare." BEN would say in a calm tone as he started staring at the doors. I would stare with him" Yeah...The things she said..." I would say in a sighing tone" Confusing? Upsetting? Yet somehow rang truth to them." BEN would say in a calm tone. I would nod" Yeah, the way she talked bothered me, she was human wasn't she?" I would ask in a curios tone. BEN would shrug" I'm not so sure at this point. Most humans can't even preform that kind of magick, no matter how many years they have studied." BEN would explain before sighing" Yeah...Its not everyday when you see a mortal human use that kind of magick and not fail." I would say in a calm tone. BEN would stretch his arms, getting up from the couch and walking over to me" Well it doesn't matter anyways. No matter where she goes, Slender wont let her get away. She's seen this place, she knows where it is. And she saw you kill her friend. Slender is going to more then just look for her, the moment he finds her, she might as well be dead! Am I right?" BEN would say in a chuckling voice, trying to be nice and joke around" For some reason I don't think that girl was her friend..." I would say in a calm tone as BEN would look down" That girl...Matty. Tried to sell her out in hopes of surviving. And when I tried to threaten Matty so that she would talk...She would have rather me kill the girl, she didn't care about Matty or that she died. I think if she did she would have stopped me. Or would have at least tried to. Mercy told me that she would tell me everything because you and Slender managed to catch her. " I would explain in a calm and sighing tone. I would then start to chuckle" She even started laughing as I stabbed Matty over 30 times! She enjoyed seeing Matty die!..." I would say in a laughing tone before frowning" But in the heat of the moment...I stabbed her. I wasn't planning on killing her until Slender said to. Matty had already told me everything she knew or at least what she was willing to say. But she still kept laughing, even though she was clearly in pain...she just kept laughing." I would explain to BEN in a sighing sad tone" Don't let it get to you man. In many ways, the way she acts is how LJ would acted if you tried to kill him. Remember when you and LJ had that big fight?" BEN would say trying to cheer me up" Yeah...it was similar...but some how it was different. LJ never showed how much pain he was in, and neither did I. But she showed that she was in pain. The tears, her trying to forcefully stop shaking, how she choked on her own scream before laughing again. I honestly don't know what to think about it. Yeah she's going to die anyways, but for some reason I want to know why she reacted that way. You know what I mean?" I would explain to BEN in a serious and confused tone. BEN would lightly smile" Yeah. I know what you mean, when me and Slender were about to let her fall into the lake, she smiled, as if she was happy about dying, there was no fear, no anger, even after she was able to avoid us, she even managed to dodge me when I was barely 3ft from her. But she just gave in, like she could accept it. For some reason. I couldn't accept her reaction. She didn't value her life in the end of it all, yet she fought really hard for it. I still don't understand it. " BEN would explain in a slightly upset tone" I think I'll ask her before she dies." BEN would then say in a calm tone as he would smirk. I would go back to smiling" Yeah. I think I'll ask her some questions before she dies as well. It will be interesting to see how she reacts to her own death." I would say in a chuckling tone as me and BEN would start walking up the stairs. We decided that we would go up to Slender's study/work room. This room was the 5th largest room in the mansion, it was filled with the best technology, I had no idea what most of them, and they were everywhere. The only thing I understood a little about were the computers that were on the left side of the room. Slender was at the computer with the biggest monitor, sitting in a large black leather chair as his fingers and tentacles typed away on the keyboard, some other tentacles would press random buttons of some of the confusing machines. BEN understood almost everything in here just like Slender did, as you could see, Slender was more then working hard in finding out where Mercy had vanished to. Standing there beside him, watching him type was LJ, who would look over at me and BEN" Good morning!" LJ would say in a happy and laughing tone" Oh good, you guys are here." Slender would say in a serious tone as he kept typing away" I managed to find where that girl lives. As well as some other things." Slender would say in a calmer tone as he would stop typing and look towards us, folding his left leg over his right leg, turning around his chair towards us" Mercy is a person who clears out haunted areas." Slender would say" So? She clears out haunted houses, big deal." I would say in a confused tone as I struggled my shoulders" Not just houses. Churches, parks, places of work, major public areas. She goes where ever she is needed. Not just that, but information on Mercy was extremely hard to find, almost as if she hidden. It took me a long time just to find out where she lives, but it was easy to find out what her job was. She doesn't stay in one area, but there seems to be one place she calls home. She has been in this location only a year now. I looked up this girl named Emily, and even looked over about Matty. They were the easiest to find. Matty was a collage student, studying to be psychiatrist, this year was suppose to be her last year in collage, she was 22." Slender would explain as he would fold his hands and sit up a bit more" So she was a very smart student...interesting. She didn't seem very smart to me." I would say shrugging my arms. BEN would shake his head" What a shame, such a waste." BEN would say in a disappointed voice" What about Emily? Mercy showed more emotion when she talked about her." I would ask in a curios tone" Emily is 22, and currently studying to be a doctor. She is a 'fan' of creepypasta, and I have found files that showed she has been arrested in harassing people, trying to get more information. A mother of a 5 year old even pressed harassment charges against her just a couple of days ago for scaring her 5 year old child to the point they were crying and shaking." Slender would explain in a sighing tone" So Emily is a nut job. Nothing new there." I would say in a calm uncaring tone. BEN would shudder" God some times Fan girls can really get out of control!" BEN would say in a disgusted tone. He was never a whole fan of the idea that we had these random girls going nuts about us. And I understood, in our stories we are betrayed as killers, what sane person would be into that? I didn't want to know the answer to that question" So what do you want us to do about Mercy?" I would ask in a calm tone" I have assigned LJ to take care of the matter. Since LJ was the only one that had some what of a conversation with her, he will pretend to be friend her and bring her here. Once she gets here we will get rid of her." Slender would say in a serious and grim tone. BEN would look up at Slender" Are you sure thats all you want to do with her? I mean she managed to escape us. She was able to magicks that neither of us have seen a mortal do in years. Don't you want to try to understand what she was thinking? And how she began to think this way? I mean she even waved good bye and talked as if we were her best friends before she finished making her escape! She had many chances to fight. When Jeff left his weapon she could have at least used it and chose not to. And when she found a weapon she didn't use it as one, she just used it as a way to keep us away from her. How long has it been since you've seen someone create a barrier like that? At least find a way to understand. I mean even Jeff wants to know. Hell I want to know why." BEN would explain in a motivated tone. Slender would think for a moment" Yes your right. I want to know, I want to understand her logic.... Alright. I'll ask Zaglo if we can use his memory machine, to see what has happened in her life to see what caused those kinds of reaction. And then when that's done, we can let Zaglo do what ever he wishes from there. If you have any questions get LJ to ask for you before hand. It will probably take some time to gain her trust. But for now...Keep your guards up and be ready for this weeks work." Slender would say in a calm tone, making a decision. By this point no one was arguing with him, but some how to me it seemed dirty to do things this way" You really think she will fall for it?" BEN would ask Slender in a calm but worried tone" Oh come on BEN have a little faith. I am great at what I do!" LJ would say in a sinister tone as a big smile would go across his face. Hopefully this wouldn't end to badly" Also. BEN, Jeff. I need you to come back here within about 3 hours, if its sooner I'll have EJ, Sally, or Doctor Smile get you. I have added some knew magick touches to the equipment here that will allow us to see what LJ sees, he already has it equipped, once LJ is able to make contact it should stay with her and allow us to see what she does everyday." Slender would explain in a serious and calm tone. BEN and I would nod" Alright. I'll be playing video games in the meantime." BEN would say in a calm tone" Can I join you?" I would ask" Sure, I can beat your ass at that one Zelda game you like!" BEN would say in a happy and determined voice" Oh your on!" I would say back to him as we would both leave the room. From there I didn't know how things were going to turn out. At the time I didn't understand how bad it was really going to be, and how fucked up things could get from there.
