(The Narrator)

I guess what Hatter said was right. From then on, each time I heard a knock on my door it would always be different. Death knocking at my front door, waiting and hoping I would answer. Each day a different way to die. Some how I found myself looking forward to it. But there were still times I hated it. The knocking, seeing a person I hated instead of the people that wished my death. To be honest, I was more scared of him, then I ever was of the others.

( Mercy's pov)

It had been about 5 days since I last saw LJ or BEN. I called the company I worked for and they gave me about 4 months off. I told them I didn't need that much time. I may have worked almost everyday of the week for them, but I didn't need 4 months off. They told me to consider it part of my vacation time, and that I could start working as soon as I wanted to. I decided to just agree with them. It did give me more time to work on my studies, and more time to fix the few strings I had left undone. There was no point in arguing with them. For some reason whenever I asked them for time off they would give me months. I've never told them why or what had happen to make me want a break. I was in my room. Sitting on my bed, sowing a new doll. I had almost finished this one, it was about the size of a small toddler and had taken me almost all morning to get it this far. I had used a peachy pale colored cloth for the skin of the body, and had filled it with cotton and sand. The sand was so that the doll would stand up right. The cloth was a thin type of material, but it seemed sturdy enough to me. I had sown on blond yarn hair fibers onto the dolls head, making sure its hair was long enough to reach the top of its back. I had sown a thick amount of the hair onto the doll so that it would be even with the dolls big head. It was 12pm and I was sowing the large blue buttons on the dolls face so that it could have eyes. I didn't know if I wanted a mouth on the doll or not, I wasn't sure how I wanted to do this...Once the last button eye was sown on I would stare at my work, it was almost too perfect "All you need now, is some cloths and a soul...Then you'll see things from my perspective." I would mutter at the doll as I would feel something plastic tap the back of my shoulder. I would look behind me, and standing there on my bed was a black and white striped doll with large black ears that had little cloth tassels hanging from them. The doll was the size of a large toddler, it had two very different button eyes. It's right eye was a large black button, while its left was a large upside down magenta heart button. Under its left eye was a pink heart button, and under its right was a purple star. The doll had a round purple button nose, and a large smile across its face that showed its rows of razor sharp teeth. The doll had three claw like buttons on the hands of its longs arms, a silver pentacle was sown between its chest and stomach. Around the pentacle were 4 heart buttons facing away from each other, two were purple, while the other two were pink. Across its right leg was an orange, green, and then a red button. While on the left was a yellow, green, and then a blue button. Around the dolls neck was a black jester like collar, that had a gold pentacle pendant dangling from it. A ribbon and bell was tied at the ends of its ears tassels, the right was a purple ribbon, and the left was a pink ribbon" Well, looks like someones up after 3 months of sleep. Did you sleep well Bow?" I would ask the doll in a happy tone as I would smile at it. This doll was my very first successful voodoo doll. The very first artificial life I had created, the first doll I had ever placed a soul into. I created the soul in that doll myself. And when it began to move and talk on its own I named it Bow. Bow didn't really have a gender, but seemed to respond better when considered to be female. Bow rarely spoke words, and usually just showed her emotions through body language. Bow helped me get a lot of things when I was working, she usually brought me back items from the spiritual world, or she would give me things that my spiritual friends wanted me to receive. Bow did need rest, and did require some type of food to keep working, but the food she required was unusual. Bow required blood. Her soul took that blood and would reproduce it as energy to keep her doll like body moving, it didn't matter what kind of blood it was. Bow usually fed herself, but when Bow couldn't find a way to get any blood, I would give her some of mine until she could find a source.
