Clamy hands entwined together, holding hope within the two men. He wanted to pace.
He needed to pace. His mind was going mental, thinking, constantly thinking. It felt like it would explode like everything the Irish man touched.
" Shay? Shay?" Dean lightly pulled Seamus' chin so that their eyes locked.
" Yeah." He said emotionally.
" Everything's fine. Hey, look at me. We've been at this for a year, the worst they can say is No."
" I Know...b..but I really want this."
" I know. So do I. It's gonna be okay. What ever the out come, we can make it?"
" Promise?" Seamus said tears falling gracefully down his pale cheeks.
" Promise."

A woman in a navy pant suit walked strong and confident.
" Mr and Mr Thomas. Pleasure to see you again." She said formally.
" Good afternoon, Miss Paty." Dean said brightly.
" So? The verdict?" Seamus asked nervously.
She sat on the counter of her desk looked down at the couple like principle disciplining a student.
She had a yellow folder in her hand and began to flick through it. She Hmm and Ahhhhed then turn back to the partners seriously.
Seamus hand constricted tightly around Dean's, boy did the little guy have strength.
She took another look at her folder.
" Oh come on, is it that hard. Just say yes or no." Seamus outburst startled the woman and she made an ohh sound.
" Please can we know the verdict." Dean asked politely.
" Yes." She said almost like a robot.
" What?!" Seamus spluttered.
" Yes. She yours. The parents waved their rights."
At this point Seamus smile grew wider than he thought humanly possible and Dean's cheeks had rivers flowing down them.
" Would you like to follow me to the nursery. You may pick a name for the child and sign the adoption papers. The house check is finalised. So your ready to start your new family." She explained leading them to the nursery.
The corridor was decorated with many animals: butterflies, lions, zebra and other bugle animals.
They were brought to a glass window. Miss. Paty pointed to a certain plastic box on wheels, inside lay a sleeping pink bundle.
" That's the child."
" She beautiful."
Paty clicked her fingers and pointed and nurse brought the tiny bundle from the nursery.
The nurse held the infant with such loving care as she passed her to Seamus.
" Congratulations." She said as she held a form on a clip board.
" She beautiful." Seamus repeated.
" Perfect. " Dean said stroking her miniature hand, staring at her nails, how could anything be so small.
" What would the child's name be?"
" Arabella." They said in a hushed union.
" Arabella Rose Thomas-Finiggan." Dean replied.
The group was brought back to the office and the couple signed the papers.
Finally, their family had begun. The love they had for this child was magically and was to grow with the years to come.
