" Daddy! Papa! " A 5 year-old Arabella screamed running through the house.
" What?! What happened?!" Seamus screamed sliding into the landing.
" Aileen was sick, Everywhere!" She pulled her fathers arms and dragged him out of the house into their back garden.
3-year old Aileen stood hunched her blonde Afro messily tied back, probably done by Arabella in attempt to help her sister.
The toddler stood crying over a puddle of sick.
" There. One minutes she was fine, jumping and laughing next she was being sick. What's wrong? Is she sick?" Arabella said quickly obviously scared.
" It's okay. Bella, go get Papa. Tell him get the sick kit." Seamus said calmly and Arabella ran.
" Honey? Ali? Come here. Step back."
Aileen sobbed and stood still, shaking her head. " it's okay sweetie. You can step away. Let's go get you cleaned up and rested, okay?" This time he lightly pulled on her hand. She turned and looked at him, her eyes red and her face tinted green. Her body release the stiff stance and she put her arms up to be carried.
He complied and held her close rubbing her back and comforting her. The cries ceased as her body fell limp against his shoulder. Her breathing evened as exhaustion took hold of her small sickened frame.
He carried her into the living room and laid her down on the coach, stripping the vomit soaked clothing off her. He wiped her down and redressed her in just a vest and a pull up.
She had a great fever. Though, she was sleeping she moaned and tossed, kicking the light blanket that covered her onto the wooden floor.
" What do you think she's got?" Dean asked sitting her side.
" I mean there was a flu going around last week. But I don't know. All we can do is take care of her. But if her fever gets too high, we're going to the hospital." Seamus said sitting on the coach across from them.
" Arabella, Tv off. Bedtime." Dean said to his daughter currently sitting so close to the Tv she could be in it.
" Oh. Come on, Papa. Please, 5 more minutes?" She pleaded.
" You can watch a film in bed. Now. " Seamus said lifting his daughter off the floor.
" Night, Papa. Night, Ali."
" Sweet Dreams, Pumpkin."
After Arabella had gone to bed, Dean and Seamus watched some Tv whilst watching over their sick baby.
" We should put her in bed." Dean stated worried.
" Yeah, it's getting late. She can stay with us tonight." Shay said knowing, if he didn't let her in their bed, Dean would get in hers just to watch over her.
Dean looked at his husband with such emotion, it made Shay tear Up.
" You too." Was all Seamus said.
Lifting the girl, her body limp under the hold of her Papa. She moaned. " Shay. Check her fever. I think it's worst. She burning up. " He said panicked.
" Shit." He felt her head, it was like fire.
" Strip her, Now!" He ran to the bathroom and put the coldest temperature on high. He ran up stairs and grabbed an old part of him, he'd buried 7 years ago.
Pop*
He was downstairs again.
With a swish the water was so cold it hurt his hand. " Dean!"
Dean was frozen in shock holding his child.
The girl was naked, laying limp in his arms.
He pulled the girl from her father and carried her to the bathroom. She couldn't go in alone. He didn't have time to think of the spell,he just jumped in and held the toddler.
Dean now stood at the door, tears streaming fast and free.
" You know who we have to call." Shay said shivering.
" We promised, we left that behind." Dean replied crying.
" This is Emergancy. Do it!" He shouted, thank god Arabella was a deep sleeper.
Dean was gone with pop*
" It's Okay. Papa gonna get the best help, ever! Madame Pomfrey. The best witch to heal whatever you have." Seamus rambled to his daughter, shivering. He rambled on for a while, until the familiar pop*
" Where is she? Show me boy!" She shouted in her demanding voice.
Dean scrambled to lead the way and brought her through to the downstairs bathroom.
" Hi, Madame." Seamus said sheepish.
" Hello, Mr. Finnigan. This is the child?"
" Yes, Aileen. We thought it was just a flu but the fevers not breaking it's increasing. Last count it was 102.3 F. That's really high! " He said, his voice fighting the emotion that came with a parents panic.
" Get her out of the bath and Mr. Thomas towels and new clothes please." She commanded.
They didn't speak but obeyed.
He laid her down on Arabella's Gym mat.
Madame Pomfrey working tirelessly for hours, preparing and administering lots of potions and spells upon the child. They just watched as their little girl lay helplessly on this mat, pale as snow with no colour adorning her cheeks and sweats and shivers racking her fragile body. After around 5 hours of stressing and silent sobs Madame Pomfrey announced; " She will be fine. A flu, a nasty one at that. I haven't seen a one like that in a muggle before, but than again I've never treated a muggle.  If anyone else should get it, don't hesitate to call."
" Thank you. I can't tell you enough how muc.." Dean stuttered.
" I know, dear. Both your parents were the same." She replied.
The boys looked her with an odd look, though they loved their parents they weren't the closest and his dad had died when he was a infant. " Yes. All parents are the same. They worry. And they love. Now, I think you should get both little girls to bed. Rest. You've had a very stressful day. Oh. And don't panic if she is a bit sick in the few days it's the potions doing their job. Good night, boys."
" Both little girls?" Seamus questioned. Madame Pofrey pointed to the doorway where a startled little girl with pink pjamies stood silently watching the exchange.
" Bella, this is Madame Pomfrey. She was our school nurse." Seamus said bending down to his 5-year-old.
" It's good to meet you Arabella. "
" Hello."
" Right, bed time little lady. Thank you again, Madame. You helped me more time in my life than anyone." Seamus said picking up Arabella and biding goodnight.
" I will take my leave now, Mr. Thomas. Call if I am needed again. And don't wait so long, next time." Madame Pomfrey said with a pop* and she was gone.
Dean was left alone in a dark living room.
He picked up his daughters recovering form and held her close. Carrying her to their bedroom.
Seamus was already their getting changed.
" I just don't want to leave her yet. When she fully better." Dean said quietly.
" I wouldn't have it any other way."
" I've never been so scared in my life." Dean confessed.
" Me too. I really thought we may lose her."
" I want to join the magical world again." Dean said suddenly.
" Really? After all the..." Seamus couldn't say the rest.
" It's been a long time, the world has changed. God, Harry's got two kids. Voldemort's dead and it's safe again. We don't have to join all at once but bits at a time. I would like our children to know where we came from." Dean said emotionally.
" Okay. Your my best friend and my husband, I trust you. You'll do what's best for our family. And if it weren't for magic tonight a doubt our baby would be here with us."
With this touching convosation, the boys settled and slept holding each other and their daughter, knowing that the new few months would be difficult but worth it for their family.
But what they didn't know is that once asleep blue flicks sparked a few little ones subconscious and tiny blue animals glided the contents of their house late at night.
