Secretly Different (A Naruto Fanfiction)

Chapter 7:I Will Find You.

If anyone had seen him sleep, everyone would have thought that Sasuke was having a dreamless slumber. Naruto knew that he wasn't though, even in their sleep,the Uchiha never let go of their pride. Sasuke was lying on his stomach when Naruto snuck back in the room after his practicing his newly learnt jutsu.The said boy was sleeping soundly, it would seem but as one of Itachi's closest friends and a teammate, he had noticed how Itachi is when he has a nightmare. Sasuke seemed to be in the same position, hands tugging the blanket and on the edge of the futon given to him.
Naruto had encountered this numerous times and knew that it was best to leave them be at times like this.

Sasuke found himself to be following his old self. Running through the dark,isolated Uchiha compound, he couldn't stop following his old self even though he knew what would happen.

He searched every house for light, but he found nothing, no one seemed to be around. Even for the Uchiha's, this was pretty odd.

He reached his well known street, the nice lady whose shop seemed to be illuminated was nowhere around, what more, it seemed to be the darkest block in the place.

Sasuke ran after the kid him, remorseful, he couldn't stop his virtuous and naïve old self from seeing the horror which was about to undfold.

Sasuke tried to stop, but it seemed impossible for him to halt, he wanted to cry out, but even in dreams, pride came first.

"Mom? Dad?" The child asked as he ran through his house.

He saw kid Sasuke's eyes widen wheb he saw his elder brother once more, his blade covered with blood, blood of his comrades, his family, all apart from his, was on that sword.This was the reason he wanted to kill that man, the person not worth of his trust, the person who had cost him almost everything, the person who had to be put to justice. That's why Sasuke lived on, he'd take revenge on his godforsaken brother, if he could even be called that. He , the last loyal Uchiha would be an avenger and avenge his clan.

Sasuke's emotions came out as he saw the child him fight an impossible battle. As he followed the two from the past outside in the fight. He wondered why this happened to him, and him alone. It might have been selfish but he wished that this had happened to anyone but him.He wished he had a family now, loosing them had made him visibly cold and no one could break his walls.He would never admit to anyone that he still loved his brother.He didn't!Not a bit.

"Foolish little brother" Itachi said, and both Sasukes
Looked up into their brother's eyes.

Sasuke was trapped in the temporary tsukiyomi with his old self.

The red and black background suited, after all, gory scenes were never sweet colours.

"Why would you show me this?"
He and his past self asked in sync.

He watched as his brother killed everyone with a glazed face, not even an ounce of remorse shown. Sasuke couldn't keep it in any longer, he had got on his knees and screamed.

Even though he wanted to, he couldn't take his eyes of the traitor who had taken away his sense of home.

He kept on screaming.
"WHY? WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS ITACHI?"he asked

He kept watching and waited for the upcoming part, which undoubtedly would haunt him for years.

He saw his brother take the sword near their mother's neck and neatly slicing it off and then repeatedly tearing her body into neat strips. His father who had seemed to have arrived just at that moment got stabbed in the heart and hacked into pieces, no time for any sort of reaction.Even then the murderer  didn't shed even one tear.

Sasuke let out more paines cries.It seemed as if Itachi made it specially gruesome to make Sasuke cry and hate him more than anyone could. He looked different, and Sasuke saw in wonder as his sharingan changed shape.

When he looked at those eyes he was brought back to reality.The young Sasuke charged at his brother, only to get beaten up.
 
"Why....did you...brother?" The young Sasuke croaked.

"They were just a measuring stick to test myself." Itachi replied.

"A measuring stick....That's.....that's why you did it?You killed everyone for that?"

"It was very important for me to do so...."

"That..." Small Sasuke said , slowly getting up."...IS UTTER BULL SHIT!"

Sasuke charged again only to be knocked down again.

"I'm scared...Please, don't kill me" the boy on the floor said, while weeping silently.

"You're not even worth killing.... foolish little brother..." Itachi said."If you wish to kill me,hate me,detest me ,curse me, survive in an unsightly way, through the ugliness..run, run for you're pitiful life and learn to survive."

Sasuke screamed again,while the young Sasuke cried on the floor.

Yes Sasuke had survived, yes he'd hated,dispised and cursed his brother. He was itching to kill him.

But he'd wait.

Itachi looked at the young Sasuke again.... Was he crying?

Surely enough Sasuke saw the tears in Itachi's eyes.No, he couldn't take it, Itachi said he didn't care, Sasuke cried out loud , the loudest he'd ever done before.

Then Itachi jumped into the air, landing on a pole.

Then he saw familiar yellow hair going after his brother in an unimaginable speed,ready to attack, what was going on, was it...

"Naruto?!" Sasuke asked.

"SASUKE!"
"SASUKE!"
"SASUKE?!"

Sasuke heard  Naruto's voice say and he slowly woke up.

He was right next to the other boy,in fact, he was clutching tightly onto Naruto's waist.

On realising what he was doing, Sasuke's cheeks became a slight pink tint and he removed his hands from Naruto's waist.

"Its okay, ya know.." Naruto said "Bad dreams?"

Sasuke just nodded.

"Do-do you know Itachi?" Sasuke asked

Naruto couldn't just say yes and get away with it.

"Who Itachi?"he feigned innocence.

Naruto changed topics.

"So, you sleep talk?" Naruto said.

"Huh,I do?"

"Yes, you were screaming things like WHYY!, you even said my name at the end, that's when I woke you up."

Sasuke nodded,

"Let's sleep for now," Sasuke said.

Naruto yawned and agreed,he'd been up all this time and Sasuke's scream dream.

The next morning Naruto and asuke woke up to find themselves hugging each other.
