When you last left me, my friends and I noticed a group of boys entering the school compound. They trooped in noisily through the big black iron gates, standing tall and proud like it held the world's most deadly criminals. Our room is on the last floor and at the corner block so it's easy to see what's happening at the front gate.
The school has three large gates with several security personnel's and they searched each student's bags thoroughly.
See how it's kinda like a prison?
They passed through the last gate and enter the school compound, strolling in like they own the place.
A bevy of girls were still scattered under trees around, gawking at the trooping male species they've never seen in the four walls of this school. Even during social activities, the school makes it clear in all her letters that only female students should be brought to participate in the competitions. Therefore dashing the hopes and dreams of some girls to meet boys during social and literary activities.
Girls like me are an EXCEPTION to that.
"Layo, Layo, Layo" Stephanie shouts rather loudly, behaving like a possessed house maid, her dark brown eyes sparkle with excitement. I turn my gaze upon my ranting friend, after an intense stare marathon through our medium sized windows.
"What happen Stephanie?" I say in a sarcastic tone that makes me seem like I'm oblivious to the current situation.
I mean duh, I have eyes too.
She stands up and peeps through our window again, the popularity of this window ranking. As she peeps through, she pushes her butt to my face earning her a butt slap as I push her towards the en suite bathroom at the left corner of the room.
"Abegi can't you see, get me my contacts jare, Tolu bring me my glasses." She says, dramatizing with her fingers, looking towards the window, to us, then back and forth, a small smile playing on her full lips as she puts her hands on her hip, waiting for us to react as dramatically as she's acting.
This girl is one hell of a drama queen.
"No oh we can't see," I reply her, sending a quick glance at Tolu to back me up here but she decides to play the 'bigger person' and just ignore us 'Kids'. "It's not boy, it's shemale. If you want to confirm well then let us go and open their trouser and then we'll confirm very well" I hiss in mockery of Steph's dramatic attitude and she just sends me a childish pout, crossing her arms over her chest.
I playfully push her out of the way to find my slippers. As I crouched down, I began to remember all what I've heard and seen about the Kings boys on Instagram and Snapchat. They might be a boys only school but they know their way around the ladies and as I heard, they can charm the knickers of any hormonal teenage girl.
I can never forget what I saw when we went to Evergreen high school on their literary and debating day.
It was a Kings boy and one girl from a public school.
Chai, I can never forget.
This whole merging thing is giving me the creeps. But as my mum says; boys and books don't mix.
"Plus you looking for contacts, and the other one opening trouser ehn, let me sha remind you what you will find there." Tolu says, cutting me out of my reverie, making me realize I've been bending here for over a minute.
"Me I will come and eat rice oh because I don't know the trouser you're opening." Tolu says, crouching down also to find her slippers."You guys should just be fast and stop wasting my time." She says as he started walking towards the door, leaving me and Stephanie behind.
That girl and her behavior, she's always so stuck up sometimes and other times she's free and just as playful as Stephanie.
