~Next day~

Ash listened, uninterested, as his parents lectured him yet again on finding a girlfriend. According to them, he needed one.

"We've let you get away with it before, but you need a girlfriend to be queen of the night at the royal ball!" Mal said, pacing around impatiently and waving her arms around wildly. To contrast, Ben was standing calmly with his hands together.

"Is it really that important?"

"Of course it is! You need a queen of the night for the ball, then she can be your girlfriend during your coronation, then she can become your lady of the court at the cotillion." the purple haired queen explained.

"Mom, coronation isn't for like, a year... And the cotillion is months after that." Ash deadpanned.

"Which means you only have a bit over a year!"

"Mal, you should calm down a little." Ben sweatdropped, lightly resting a hand on her shoulder. The woman took a deep breath and shook her arms a little to get all the extra anxiety out.

"Ash, we'd just prefer you find your own girlfriend so we don't need to make any... arrangements." the king trailed off a little at the end. They never talked about arranged marriages or anything with Ash.

"Wait, arrangements?!" the boy exclaimed in shock. "I don't wanna be in a fake relationship!"

"It's not fake. It's a real relationship, just previously planned." Ben explained.

"Same difference!"

"We really don't want to find someone for you, but you're starting to run out of time." Mal said once she was calmer.

"But I just don't care about dating... Plus, people only act nice around me because I'm a prince. If I wasn't your son, I'd be treated like how they treat the other mixed bloods..."

"That's not true--"

"Of course it's true!" Ash shouted before storming away, leaving Mal and Ben standing alone, frowning.

"Alright," N began, tiredly sitting down after a long day of classes. They were all in the boys' room trying to figure out what to do. "We have everything we need. What now?"

"Let's just go now," Silver suggested, taking Evie's mirror and Mal's spellbook from a bag. Serena grabbed his hand.

"No way. We still need to figure out how to use the book, need to spell the mirror, and then find the actual ultimate weapon." she explained.

"Let's not forget that there's no way we can just slip away in broad daylight. We're new kids, people are gonna be watching us out of curiosity or caution. Being villain kids especially doesn't help us." Lillie reminded everyone, and she put the mirror and book back into the bag. Silver brought them back out.

"We can still spell the mirror," he said.

"...Fine." the blonde huffed. "But we don't have magic,"

"My dad said everyone has a little magic in them..." Serena stated, now holding the spellbook.

"Probably just something poetic," N mumbled. "None of our parents were magic, so we won't be, either."

"Better safe than sorry," Serena began flipping through the book. "Here's a spell. In my hands it shall lay, make this blank, to me, obey."
