" Hey kiddo how you doing this morning! "

" Hi dad " I whisper under my breath.

My dad. Where shall we begin. Well let me put it this way, my dad is a pastor at a church , the church he actually met my mom at. My parents as I says before got married young and were so in love they had me and my brother Cole - we will get to him shortly. My mom was home a lot looking after us while my dad had a church to run , so they didn't get to spend a lot of time together. And has you guessed my dad slept with his personal assistant. Yeah shit move in his side. This all lead to them getting divorced and my going on a spiral break down for years. Until she met Charles and yeah you get the picture. But for my a dad , I still have this anger towards him, cause if he didn't fuck up like that we would all be one happy family- but no we all in this mess now because of him

"Skylee we are running's bit late my dear" my dad said to me while walking back to the car. I'm just standing in the cold spitting rain like a hobo.

I put my hand on the car door and pull it open. It's like a heat wave just rushed over me. Eden is in The front, as always, listening to music, as always, which to me doesn't make sense because they might as well chuck out our car radio.

I close the door and sit behind my dad.

"Cole is coming home this weekend "

" oh really ? It's been a while since I've seen him."

Cole is my older brother, who is in third year varsity. He was the jock in high school and the girls drooled over him. He has beach curls and loves surfing, so obviously I look like a goth next to this tan ass boy.
He lives with my dad, which my mom takes offence to but aye I mean what can she tell a 21 year old to do am I right ?

"Okay cool I'll send him a message and see what his plans are for the weekend "

Most probably going surfing.

" I think he said that he wants to take you and Seth with him on some trip with his friends this weekend"

Oh my. Now that's so interesting news I haven't heard of in a while. Seth out of all people- really ?

" oh why Seth? I ask trying not to sound too keen on the whole idea.

" I think cause Seths brother is going with and he knows that you and Seth are close so thought of inviting you "

How interesting.

" okay well I'll see how I feel about it on Friday."I cross my arms together trying not to make it obvious that I'm excited to spend time with Seth.

Out of the corner of my eye I see my dad rolling his eyes, like "mmm yeah keeping rolling sweetie, you'll probably find a brain back there" but of course I wouldn't say that , so nobody else heard that except me, and Jesus along with all the other shit I say to myself.

While driving on the highway watching the rain drips on my window having a race all I can think about is what this weekend is going to be like. And spending it with Seth and my brother , boom killing two birds with one stone.

"WELLCOME TO WOODBURN HIGH" I read from the sign outside the school gate.

" Okay girls here we  are ! I'll be back here around 3 to pick you girls up"

"Okay cool see you then "

I leave and give him a hug and watch Eden do the same , walking slowly and miserably to our locker rooms.

I walk past Leighs locker and see her applying makeup, as per usual, on herself. Even though we not allowed, she does it anyway, I mean it's not like anyone actually gives a shit about the school rules.

"Ahhh Skylee ! I have such great news to spill ! "

"Yes do go on" I can't help, but let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in.
