Chapter 12: First Day

Anna

I wake because of the warmth that engulfs me. An arm is draped over my torso and a warm breath at the back of my neck.

I turned to face the man beside me and his nose poked mine.

A beautiful smile showed from his face. He slowly open his eyes and I found them glistening. A smile that replicates his showed across my face.

How perfect can this be? Waking up to a beautiful man who holds your heart.

He moved his head up and kissed my forehead.  “Good morning sleepyhead.”

“Kanina ka pa gising?” I asked him.

“Yep. I love listening to you breathe.” He told me.

“You’re creepy,” I teased him.

He chuckled. “This is the best morning of my life, the first time I get to wake up with the woman I love. I hope this lasts forever.”

I just smiled. I was thinking the same thing.

“It will. Tayo ka na, luto tayo breakfast.” I told him and poised to get up.

He held me back my enveloping me in his strong and warm arms.

“Mamaya na. Andiyan naman yung mga helpers na pinadala nila Mommy.” He said and buried his face on my neck.

“Jeric, you’re such a lazy ass.” I told him while giggling.

“I have every right to be lazy today. It’s Sunday, no work, no practice and no game for me. Let’s be lazy for a little more while please,” he reasoned out.

“10 minutes.” I said.

“30. Not negotiable.” he retorted.

I didn’t win that conversation, so we end up cuddling. After an hour or so, we’re both tired of lying around. We decided to take a bath, NOT together.

We may be living together but we’re not doing things were not supposed to do ;)

After taking a bath, we both went to the kitchen and found the two helpers.

“Ate, magluluto po sana kami kaso ayaw po namin kayong gisingin para tanungin kung ano yung gusto niyong agahan.” The one from Jeric’s parents said. I think her name is Trina. She looks just a little bit older than Jeric and I, maybe a couple of years older than Jeric.

“Ano po ba ang gusto niyong kainin at ihahanda namin.” Lani said, the one from my parents. She is the older one, maybe in her early forties.

“Ai ako na lang po ang magluluto,” I told them.

“Po?” They both look hesitant.

“Okay lang po. Wala naman po kaming trabaho ni Jeric. Take the day off.” I said to them.

“Po?” Now they looked stunned.

Their first day to work for us and they get a day off. Jeric is smugly smiling beside me.

“Yeah” I nodded.

“Gusto po kasi akong masolo ni Anna kaya i-enjoy niyo na lang yung day off niyo.” Jeric added.

I nudged him using my elbow.

“Sige na,” I told the helpers.

They both look hesitant at first but they eventually followed my instructions.

“What do you want for breakfast?” I turned to Jeric and asked.

“You.” He said while smirking.
