Chapter 8: Twins

We did a lot of convincing with my parents since my dad really wants a wedding. Okay, I did a lot of convincing. Jeric is on Team Wedding while I’m on Team No Wedding. But in the end, we’ve decided that the wedding will come after the baby.

I also talked to the parents of my students, as a respect for them. They said that they really understand what happened and there’s no need for me to resign.

But of course, I’m stubborn as a rock. I don’t want to disgrace the whole teacher community especially that I’m a preschool teacher.

I have a joke for myself too. Naturingan pa naman akong preschool teacher, nagpadisgrasya naman.

Let’s face it. It’s true. That is what really happened. An unmarried woman got pregnant.

Jeric hates that joke. When he heard it, he went all furious.

He would say, angrily, “Anna, this is not a disgrace. I love you. We made that baby because of love. Why are you thinking like that?” full force.

The first time he heard that, he walked out on me and didn’t talk to me for 3 hours! He never ignores me, as in NEVER.

I felt guilty so I stopped mentioning that joke to myself when Jeric is around.

You may think, I’m not taking this seriously but deep inside I’m scared. I fear that everybody will leave me and let me walk alone. I’m scared that Jeric will snapped back to reality and leave his responsibility, me.

Ok I should stop thinking about it. It’s making me cry.

Enough with the story telling. Today Jeric will pick me up for my first ever checkup. My OB will be my Mom’s friend Tita Serena.

I heard a car pull up and I knew it was Jeric. Of course, he’s the one I’m expecting. I checked it and I am correct. I ran to his car and stood beside his door.

“Hey baby,” I poked my head inside his car.

“Watch your head,” he said and guided my head.

“Are you ready?” I asked. Our faces are inches apart and Jeric quickly gave me a kiss on the lips.

“Are you?” he asked back.

I pulled back my head and went to the other side. I opened the passenger’s door and found a bouquet of colorful flowers on the seat.

“For you,” Jeric said and smiled. That smile make me fall all over again.

I smiled to his sweetness and went inside the car. I lifted the flowers and laid them on my lap.

“Thank you babe,” I said to him and smiled.

Jeric started the car and we’re on our way. I was looking at the flowers and noticed a card on it. I looked at Jeric first and he looked like he’s trying so hard to focus on driving but I caught him smiling.

I brought my attention to the flowers and took the card and opened it.

We’re on a new chapter of our lives together and I promise that I will be here for you. That no matter what happens I will never leave your side. I love you.

PS: Oh and please marry me.

I looked at him. “I love you too Jeric. You’re so sweet but this is not the romantic proposal that I want,” I smirked at him.

“Patience future Mrs. Teng,” Jeric retorted.

“Back at you Teng. I also need your patience. I still need to give birth to our first born. Jeric, we already talked about this,” I said to him.
