Hi guys! School started and this first wreck has already been rough, but I'm glad to get a chapter up and it seems it's a bit longer than usual so I hope you enjoy it and I hope to be back soon with another update!

MinSeul

“MinSeul, why are you on the floor? Are you okay?”

I found myself unable to even look at him. I wanted to hate him so bad for what he had done to my family. I wanted to kick and scream and curse at him for being selfish and disgusting, but instead, I got off of the floor and into my bed, muttering a “Yeah, I’m fine. I’m taking a nap,” hoping he would get the hint and leave me alone.

No such luck.

I felt the side of my bed dip and a hand pet my head. “MinSeul?”

I hummed in response, trying to restrain myself from lashing out at him.

“I love you very much and that I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished. I couldn’t ask for a better daughter and I wouldn’t trade you for anything.”

One word bounced across my mind and the longer he spoke, the more intense it got.

Liar.

I couldn’t take it anymore and I snapped at him. “I’m trying to sleep, so I would appreciate it if you took your yapping elsewhere and left me alone.”

I quickly put my hand over my mouth. I had never, not once in my seventeen years of life, spoken to my father like that, or anyone for that matter.

Then, I found myself unable to feel guilty or apologize.

My room was silent as he slowly got up and walked out, gently closing the door behind him.

I turned and stared at my ceiling, sniffling like a madman, and unable to sleep.

I didn’t know how I was going to look at my father again without hurt and hate burning through me, let alone forgive him or respect him, after what he’d done.

And I didn’t know how I was going to look my mom in the eye after I’d lied to her.

I stayed in my room for the rest of the day, refusing to come out to even eat.

At six pm, there was another knock at my door before I heard my mother’s voice as she walked in.

“MinSeul? I’ve brought you up some food. Have you not eaten all day? The food I left for you is still in the fridge and there’s still a whole pot of tea on the stove.” She placed the tray of steaming food on my bedside table, the smell wafting from it making my stomach growl. “Get up now. How do you expect to get better if you don’t eat and drink the tea I made you? Up. Now.” The blanket was suddenly yanked off of me and cold air hit my skin.

I slowly sat up and she placed the food in front of me. I mumbled a “Thank you” and ate my food in silence, avoiding looking at her. She sat beside me, quiet for a moment, before she spoke.

“MinSeul, I want you to know that I love you no matter what and I will try my best to ensure you have the best life possible.”

I gulped down my food, shame washing through me and quickly said, “Of course, Mom. I love you, too.”

Not long later, she placed a kiss on my forehead and took my empty plates with her, leaving me with a cup of tea.

Sighing, I drank the tea and attempted to sleep.

I was startled awake.

Huh?’ I thought to myself, wondering what had woken me up.
