I let out a groan of pain before I was even fully aware that I was awake. Every muscle hurt.
Forcing myself awake, I leaned up and cracked open my eyes. It was still dark outside and my alarm hadn't even gone off yet. I didn't understand why I was up. I had only gone to sleep at one am and it was barely five now.
Suddenly, I coughed and practically sprang out of bed and into my bathroom before emptying last night's dinner into the toilet.
Then, I sneezed, somehow sending some of the vomit into my nose.
"Oh, what the hell? Ow." I said, attempting to stop my nose from burning.
I brushed my teeth and washed my face after cleaning up the bathroom.
'What the heck was that?' I thought, laying down and closing my eyes.
What seemed like five seconds later, my alarm went off. I opened my eyes, immediately shutting them from the sunlight beaming through my windows and the pounding of my head. Peeling the blanket away from me, I noticed I was sweating a waterfall, but shivering because I was cold.
Yep, definitely sick.
I sighed. Today was going to be great.
Pulling on comfortable clothes and grabbing my backpack, double checking that my work was in there, I headed down the stairs.
"MiNa, please." I heard my dad say. Silence answered him.
"Mi-"
"Hey, honey. How did you sleep?" My mom asked as I walked in.
"Not very well," I answered honestly, my voice nasally.
"Oh, dear. Come here." She got up, abandoning her coffee, and crossing the room to put her hand on my forehead. "And where did you think you were going wearing winter clothing in the spring and with a fever like that? No, ma'am. I won't allow it. March yourself back upstairs. Back to bed you go." She said, pushing me back out of the room.
"No, Mom. I can't. I have so many things to get done and people to consult with." I said, shaking my head adamantly.
"Nothing you can't do from home. Back upstairs. Now. I'll call the school to notify them of your absence and then I'll be upstairs with Granny's honey tea. I would take the day off, but it's only my second day and I don't think that'll make a good impression. But I'll make enough to last you all day, set out medicine for you, and call in every few hours to check on you." By now, she had pushed me halfway up the stairs.
"But, Mom-"
"No ifs, ands, or buts. Go now. Shoo." She gestured as of shooing a fly.
Sighing, I gave up and went back to my room. When it came to my mom, there was no winning an argument, especially when our health was concerned. She showed no mercy. (A/N: NO NO NO NO MERCYYY WE ARE THE B.A.P Hehe. Sorry.)
I laid down in my bed for nearly ten minutes before getting up with a huff and pulling my laptop out of my bag. Just because I was forced to miss school doesn't mean this day had to be wasted.
