five - Seth Branson's Class Is A Blessing And A Curse
Closing a drawer to his metal cabinet, Mr. Branson began his lecture, ''See, Aristotle asked why are we here? What is the meaning of life in the face of death?''
As he lifted up a stack of paper on his desk, Jake Fitzgerald remarks, ''Bet Tyler's wondering the same thing right about now.''
Mr. Branson absentmindedly retorts, ''Thank you, Jake,'' While he continues to look around his desk. Aria's brows were already scrunched together when she narrows her brown eyes at a student from the front of the room, turning haphazardly in his seat to fist bump Jake on his lame comment.
''See Aristotle also understood that volatile relationships, well, they can lead to tragedy.'' He began to search in the pile stacked in the cart that held a tv.
Brooke's blonde locks fell off of her shoulder as she tilts her head to the side, her hand resting on the crook of her neck while asking, ''Looking for something, Mr. B?''
He looks up from his search and his features seemed to have grown stern when he retaliates, ''We're all looking for something, Brooke. See desire, that's at the heart of drama. Desire for love. Power. Money. I'm talking about Jason and Madea. Talkin' about Anthony and Cleopatra..''
He turn to set his attention on the class full of students. ''I'm talking about Emma and Kieran.''
Taken back by the assigned pairs, the blonde looks up with wide eyes. ''Excuse me?''
''I'm splitting you all into pairs..'' His announcement trails off once he turned around. He suddenly rushed up to his cork board conspired with illustrations that related to the core of English class. ''Uh, you and you're partner will choose a dramatic scene to perform in class.''
Aria's palms were like a sponge, cultivating fatter by all the sweat being produced from her nerves. Getting a partner wasn't a problem, Aria was always paired with either Noah, Audrey, Emma and or Riley. It was getting up in front of the class and completing the project in front of people, in front of Jake Fitzgerald.
She doesn't understand how no one else grows anxiety of public speaking like she does. Especially in acting.
Mr. Branson cocks his head to the side, his back side still facing the class. ''Now let's not just limit ourselves. We can choose something contemporary, like movies.''
By now, Mr. Branson was facing his class, standing behind his swirl office chair placed behind his desk. ''Audrey and Will.''
''If you suggest the pool scene from Willd Things, I will end you.''
Aria, however, eyed her teacher sternly. Two down, two more to go. The young Foster usually prays once a day, and her first prayer was came at it's pique, dear god did she need either Riley or Noah.
''Or,'' Mr. Branson shrugs his shoulders suggestively. ''If that's too much for your attention span, pick a favorite TV show, Riley and Noah.''
Aria props an elbow on her desk, hovering a hand over her nose as she exhales deeply.
''I'll even allow popular fiction, Aria and Jake.''
Aria's heart has never sunk so far from her chest until this very moment. This could only get worse from it, she was sure of it.
Her eyes travel towards Jake who turned to her. ''How about the movie, Hush? You'll play the deaf girl and I'll be the killer.''
Mocking laughter up roared around her, causing a light hue of pink coloring her cheeks. This was going to be one hell of a project.
