The campers were dressed in full battle armor and weapons. Jaden was pacing, looking for Joie. Kaleco sent Sona to Canisa with a slight push and a whisper. Kaleco walked to Jaden and put his hands on his friends shoulders. “Kaleco, do you know where Joie is? I need to know if she is safe and -” “Shut up. Look up. See Joie? Go love. Now” and off Jaden went to hug his wife. Kaleco smiled and went to Canisa’s side, following the rules of being a goddesses lieutenant.
The campers looked to the cabin heads, who were conferring on what to do. Kaleco looked to Canisa, who nodded then turned to Sona. He sighed and strode over to the leaders and listened in.
“We should tell them to do a border patrol, like we did with the golden bulls.”Travis said. “But if they die, we will be held responsible” said Annabeth, who had taken over for Kaleco. “But they are busy with.. well, her” Clarisse said, looking at Canisa. “Your a bitch you know?” Joie said with Jaden holding her. “She didn’t sit there and go ‘oh well I think I will have my brain stolen and be Kronos’s unwilling servant today’. So shut up, sit down, and focus on the problem at hand. Kay?” and down sat Clarisse.
Kaleco laughed and said shortly, “The campers await your decision” and he walked back to sadden Canisa. “They are deciding. Any suggestions for Apollo cabins input?”
“I can no longer claim responsibility to Apollo Cabin. I turn leadership over to you” she spoke slowly and with tears falling down her face quietly. She turned and unsteadily walked away. Kaleco stood there, in shock. Canisa had given up responsibilty to him? But he was weak, not good enough, worse than- no he couldn’t afford to think that. He turned and breathed in. He walked over to the leaders and made his way to the table. He heard the last decision, “We will guard the camp as our elders once did. As one” He smiled and spoke up. “I am Apollo leader. How may I help the other leaders of the camp” They all turned and stood still. They looked at each other and spoke as one. “We are the other leaders. How may we help you our fellow in arms?”. He smiled and he was officially Apollo leader.
Sona walked outside and saw Karysa walked pass. She followed the Jedi as she walked to the barrier. Canisa stood there, staring at the barrier. Karysa strode over to her and spun her behind by her shoulder. “This is all your fault. The camp being in trouble. Its ALL YOUR DAMN FAULT!” Sona ran in front of Canisa who was standing there taking it. “You being a meanie-pants!” Canisa sighed and got down on her knees. “Sona, this isn’t your battle. Go help set up camp for patrols and make me proud.” Sona looked at Canisa and was scared by the emotionless face that spoke to her. She nodded and ran to camp.
She ran to Ruby and pulled on her sleeve. “Karysa is being mean!” Ruby looked down and said, “To whom” “Mummy, Cani who ever you call her?!?”
Suddenly, a fireball fell from the sky and the Apollo cabin went up in flames. Kaleco raced to the scene among the other campers and began to work his magick to protect those who were inside. Many of the Apollo campers were crying and the others held back those who were trying to go in to save them. Kaleco pulled Joie to the cabin. “Joie! Magick now! I’m protecting those who are inside, but we can’t get to them unless the fire is put out.”
Joie put out the fire and the Apollo campers were released and ran to get stretchers from the hospital. Some pulled bandages from their bags, others potions. They carted people to the hospital, Ares members running the stretchers to the Apollo members. Kaleco ran to a particularly burnt camper and used his magick to lessen the pain, trying to get them to relax so it didn’t hurt as much. “Its okay, you’ll be fine” he chanted. And as soon as that person had relaxed, he ran off to another person, and another trying to calm them all down.
He was stopped after a while by one of the Apollo members. He looked at the person and said, “What?” “You need to rest. And as Canisa has given you something important in the roles, you need to lead our cabin” she smiled at him. He nodded and went over to the makeshift cabin that had been set up when the members were healing people.
“Okay guys. I know that today was a shock, but I’m here if you need me. Rest up because tomorrow will be even more hectic. Try to sleep alright?” He addressed the cabin. One of the older members got up from the corner he and his friends had claimed and walked over to Kaleco. “When’s Canisa coming back? And why the hell did she put you in charge?” he asked curtly, his friends laughing. Kaleco gave him a smirk and said, “You want to know why?”
“Ya, I actually do. Athena dude. You got killed, how does that feel?” Kaleco beckoned the boy outside, not looking at him. The guy followed, sure in his steps.
Kaleco spun around and said, “Because I am Lady Canisa’s lieutenant and she charged me with protecting you. I died for a good cause and provided Jaden the ammunition to fuel his hatred towards Kronos even further. I died to protect my sister, girlfriend, shortie, and all of you. Someone needed to die and I refused to sit back and let it be someone else. So shut the hell up and grow up.” The boy took a step back and said simply, “Im sorry” and he turned on his heel and walked back into the makeshift cabin.
Kaleco sighed and looked at the sky, where the gods lived. “Athena, now would be a good time for help” He walked over to the woods and began his journey down to his spot where he was talking to James. During his walk, Kaleco thought over the events for the day. Apollo cabin had been attacked, all because of Canisa and Apollo taking her side in the battle with the gods. They had some injuries, and some had run off. Some had gotten mad and some had stared off into space. Jaden was trying to calm people still, and Sona was with the injured, taking care of them.
