<<<Fifteen years after the birth of Jagg and Sel>>>
Although only twenty years have passed since that night in Lord Dek's private quarters, both Jagg and Sel despite being only 15 years old look as though they are nearly 21. Jagg has yellow eyes that stand out well against his shaggy obsidian-black hair with a natural vertical stripe of red. He normally wears his dark leather combat boots with Olive-Drab green pants, and shirt with a black leather biker's jacket. Sel has dark red eyes that match her brother's red stripe, and long braided snow-white hair with a natural purple vertical stripe similar to her brother Jagg's. She often wears a black V-neck with silver necklaces and one silver ring on each ring finger. Her pants are black leather with a few silver chains of varying lengths attached, which matches her black knee-high boots and a short-tail leather biker jacket.
"Jagg slow down!" yells Sel with what breath she has left.
"Oh come on Sel, you can run longer can't you?" Jagg taunts.
"Oh fine just run slower!" she said panting heavily.
"Why we'll miss it!" he says excitedly and continues on running full speed.
"Yeah I know." She says exhaustedly and runs to catch up.
Tonight is the first meteor shower that they will ever see and Jagg is acting like a kid-in-a-candy-store. Sel is worried about whether her brother will be ok with who was rumored to be in town waiting for them. He turns a corner then his steps stop short and she knew he was staring into the darkness ahead…
"Hello, Jagg." Says a familiar voice that Jagg hadn't heard in five years.
"Hey Dad, what's up?"
Sel reaches them and Dek sees her white hair first.
"Hello, Sel."
"Hey" was all she could say as she brushed her hair into place so she could see.
"Beautiful night tonight it would be a shame to waste it. Come, sit, and watch the meteor shower with me will you?" Dek asked with a sincere smile.
"Of course." answered Jagg and Sel in unison as they went to sit with their father.
When the meteor shower was coming to an end Dek stood up and said something they would never forget.
"I came to warn you that in the coming year you will stop aging completely and your demonic powers with be at their upmost pungent to those hunting for you."
With that Jagg shot up to his feet faster than any full-human could, then he asked two burning questions.
"Who is hunting us, and why us?"
"Demons, Angels, and then the humans with enough resources to find you two. Eventually everyone may very well seek out the power you two hold. This leads us to the biggest question of all. What powers do you hold? What separates you from the rest of the Mix-Bloods? And why does everyone want those powers?" Their father said with a protective and yet suspicious edge.
"How many are there that are like us?" said Sel quietly.
"No one knows for sure," he said but knowing that it wouldn't be enough he continued "but I would imagine that between the three layered realms probably about five hundred... give or take."
"I have a feeling that is a lot for Mix-Bloods..." said Jagg.
"No it's not," their father said solemnly, "the numbers of Mix-Bloods has dropped from the time of your birth not only those being born but those already living." He continued.
"How much has it dropped?" asked Sel.
"There was more than three thousand between the three layers 20 years ago then… then just… poof." He said with a great amount of concern. "Something I only hope can, and will be stopped before you two get caught up in whatever is doing this."
"Could someone be hunting us but can't find us so they go for the others?" asked Jagg.
"It's possible but I'm not sure of that either," said Dek "which is why you need to seek Valance he's a Mix-Blood of Angelic descent and he will train you better than I could ever train you."
"How could he train us better than you could?" Sel asked after he was done.
"Well let me put it to you this way," he said with a smile. "Who do you think trained me all those years ago, before you two were born."
Then they heard the blood curdling scream of a demon, a Necro-Wraith.
"Damn!" was the first thing out of Dek's mouth. "I knew this was a bad idea! You two need to go now! The three of us drew the Necro-Wraith here because of our combined aura. Now run!!!" Then he pulled his trusted blade Soul Fang from its sheath which they hadn't even noticed before now.
And so they ran…
