We made out till we realised that we were running out of protection."I was going to bring it today, you know? In case Aaron forgot about giving them back day after tomorrow. But then, I got a call from Beckett that Miranda had come to visit you and I came running back." Terrence said, his voice coming out muffled because his face was buried between my breasts.
"Why did he tell you that?" I asked and he looked up.
"Because I had told him to inform me about every pest that enters the house. I had a feeling that Hunter might come to apologise, and I wanted to be right there to give him another black eye - I wasn't quite done that night." He grinned.
I trailed my finger along the dried trail of tears down his cheeks to his chin, and tugged it closer. He crawled upwards so that our breaths were mingling, and I grinned back at him.
I love you. It was right on the tip of my tongue, overwhelming me to the point that I almost blurted it out.
But I wanted to wait. I wanted to know if I still felt the same for him after sex. Maybe my feelings just bubbled out of the sexual tension that always crackled in the air when he was around, or maybe it was because of how we barely got the time to spend with each other.
I leaned up and kissed the tip of his nose.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked, his brows furrowed.
"Yes."
"You trusted me." He stated and I flipped us so that I was on top.
"Is that a question?" I raised a brow, and he grinned, swooping down to steal a kiss.
"I'm serious. Miranda has a bad reputation of taping every guy she has banged. And she uses those tapes to wreck every relationship she comes across. When I saw that cell phone in your hold, with you staring at the screen so blankly, I had lost all hope. I was so sure you weren't going to believe me, and I panicked. Never did I feel like hitting a woman before, Alyssa, trust me, but I was more worried thinking about how I was going to make you believe that I would never do that to you."
I lifted my head off his chest and looked straight at him, "Why would you even think that I don't trust you?" I asked him incredulously.
"It's because no matter how much we'd like to believe that we know each other like the back of our hands, we actually don't. I am not complaining; if the twins are the ones behind us being together today, then I'm no one to complain about them taking up all of the time we have with each other. I could have shitted my pants right when you said that you didn't give a fuck if I cheated on you. You... I... I don't know...I thought everything right then, everything that could make you stay, but, for the love of all, nothing and absolutely nothing came to mind. I don't remember a single thing that I did for you, anything that would stand out as a reason to stay."
"You are stupid." I repeated the same words I had been saying for the past half hour, "You really are stupid." I buried my face in the crook of his neck, "There are many things that you have done for me, and trust me, there are more than enough reasons for me to stay."
"Like?"
I gave him another look.
"Firstly, I know how much you love the twins and how you'd never do such a thing that might affect them in one way-"
"There. There! Once again!" He shouted, flipping us so that he was on top of me, his half naked body distracting me.
"Now what?"
"This. The babies. I knew it! They are the only reason why you believed me-"
"Stop it, Terrence! Why don't you just listen to me?! The babies aren't the only reason!" I snapped, pushing his chest and flipping us so that I was straddling him, again.
