Skylar's POV:

"Alright, Are you sure you have everything?" Newt asks me. I look through my knapsack to double check if I have everything. "Yes, I'm sure." I say back. "Are you sure? Do you have your blanket?" Newt asks me again. I look around my knapsack again and my eyes widen when I can't find it. I hear Newt clear his throat as he hold up my baby blanket with an 'I knew it' smirk. I hastily take the blanket from his hand and hold it to my body. Gee, if I would have forgotten my blankie, I would have gone mad! I take a look at the clock for curiosity's sake while Newt finishes gathering his things. "I'm going inside the case to make sure everything is alright. I'll only be gone a moment. Now, I want you to wait right there. You stay in this room. Do you understand me?" Newt says sternly, with a hint of gentleness. I nod my head eagerly as I watch him go into the case. I look back at the clock to see how much time I have before we dock. 12:20. Good. The ship does not dock until 13:15. Knowing my father, he will be a while in there. I race back to the bow of the ship to see if my friends from earlier are still there. Unfortunately, they are not. I look all around at the sites and race over to the edge and just stare endlessly. It really is beautiful, isn't?

Newt's POV:

I hope she will be alright while I'm gone. I only want to go into my case to check on everyone. Alright then, everyone seems fine and everything is in order. I checked on my boy, fed him, changed him, and put him back to bed. All is well. I spend a good 35 minutes inside the case before I decide to go back up before the ship docks. I hang my head at what I find as I step out of the case. I should have known. I should have known that Skylar would not stay put. She is too antsy to keep still. Besides, she knows me too well. She knew I would take longer than I said I would. No matter, I still have to find her. I swear that child will be the death of me. Here we go again, I walk up and down the corridors trying to find the cheeky girl. No sign of her anywhere. Lovely. Ok, let me think for a moment. If I want to find Skylar, all I have to do is simply think like her. If I was an eight year old girl looking to occupy myself, where would I go? I try to come up with all the different place she could possibly get herself in trouble on this ship. Then, it hits me. She may have gone to find the group of children from earlier. Yes, that's it.

I make my way to the bow of the ship and see if I can see her. No sign of the children, but I do see the back of a head full of red hair by the edge just looking at the open water. I walk up behind her trying not to disturb her, put my case down, and place my arms on either side of her so I can catch her just in case. "What are you looking at?" I say in her ear. "Everything." she says with a smile. All of a sudden in the distance, a small group of dolphins emerge from the water. I can feel Sky's body tighten with excitement right under me. "Newt, what are they?" she asks full of curiosity. "They are called dolphins. They are non-magical creatures that breathe air like a muggle, but live in the ocean." I explain to her. "What do you think New York will be like?" she asks with a voice full of wonder. I think for a moment. "I don't know, my love. What I do know is that it will be a new adventure." I say looking down at her with a smile on my face. I kiss the top of her head and rest my chin. She is so innocent. It is incredibly hard to stay angry with her for a long period of time. I tell you her smile can melt even the hardest of hearts. I love this child so much that it would destroy me if anything happened to her. However, I lift my head to look down at her so I can ask, "What happened to waiting in the room for me?" She giggles back at me, "I knew you would be gone for a while and I didn't feel like waiting. Besides, how did you know I was here?" she responds. "Because I know you. I had a feeling you would try to find the other children from this morning. So, here I am." I retort. I look at my pocket watch to check the time. "Merlin's Beard! We best be going. The ship is about to dock. Come along, Sky."

Skylar's POV:

"Hold my hand please." Newt says as we walk down the ramp and to a very long line. We proceed to walk into a huge group of people. People make me nervous. They look at me funny because of my face. They just don't understand. As each person passes, I get more and more frightened. I let go of Newt's hand and cling to his side. Our eyes meet as he looks down at me. He pulls me away, turns, kneels to my level, and says, "Hey, there is no need to be frightened. These people here, all they want is to get to the city just like we do. They won't bother you. I won't let them. I promise." he says comfortingly as he strokes my right cheek over the gashes. I start to feel a little better. I let go of his side and take a hold of his hand. Ugh. This line is too long. I don't like waiting. I start to get antsy again. As Newt begins to calm me down there was a loud "Next!" ringing through the line. I guess that meant us. Before I know it, we were in front of a man behind a desk.

Newt hands him our passports and he takes a look at them. "British. Huh?" the man says. He seems to be a dull fellow. He keeps asking Newt questions like is this our first trip here and so on and so forth. The man then notices the case and my knapsack. He asks, "Anything edible in either one?" With a hand over his pocket, Newt answers, "No." The man then asks if we have any livestock in our bags. I don't know what that means, but as Newt answers, one of the clasps on the case swings open. Newt and the man notice and Newt quickly closes it to try and put an end to the question by saying, "Must get that fixed, ahh no." The man insists on looking in our luggage so Newt has no choice but to place the case on the desk but not before switching the clasp to muggle worthy. "That means you too, kid." the man says to me. Newt helps me take my knapsack off and place it on the desk. He quickly looks through them and then gives them back, but not without saying, "Welcome to New York." Newt says thank you, grabs our things, and we go about our business.

We make it into the city and let me say that it is bigger in person. Both Newt and I are amazed by our new surroundings. "Definitely different than London, eh?" Newt says. "Definitely." is all I managed to say. "Right, Now let's stop over here. I need to check on Micah. Wait by the case. I'll only be a few moments this time." I look at him with that 'Really?' look on my face. "Hey, now, Little Missy, don't give me that look. Micah is a bit more important than the others at the moment so I will just be a few." I let the look drop as he goes into the case. Just like he said he was only gone for a few moments. "There he should be settled for a while. I put him down for another nap so he should sleep for a while till I change him next. Come on." he says as he takes my hand in his once more. I know that Newt has a map of where we are supposed to be going, but I don't think he is following it very well. I am stared out of my thoughts by being pulled toward a bank. There is a woman on the steps that keeps saying, "Witches live among us." and she is not happy about it. Does she know?
