I walked through to the living room to see my husband, Brain covering his gorgeous brown eyes with black shades. I was going to drive him to see Tyler Bates, the man who is going to be recording guitar on Brian's new album, The Pale Emperor. I was so proud of him because of how much he has been writing lyrics for the album, I, myself couldn't wait to get back in the studio with my best friend, Heidi.
"Honey, are you nearly ready?" I asked Brian, as I picked up my car keys from the coffee table.
"Yeah, sweetie. When we get there do you want to come into the studio to meet Tyler?" Brian asked me with smile.
"Yeah sure." I smiled and grabbed my bag from the couch.
Brian opened the door and stood against it and gestured for me to go first. Brian and I have two house keys since we're in different bands and we come home at different times from the studios. I walked out of the door and went over to my black car. I got in the car and Brian got in the passenger side after locking the front door. The car ride was chatty as usual. Brian and I got married two years ago after my band supported him on tour. It felt like only yesterday he proposed to me, he did it in the most romantic way.
"Carla, is Heidi coming down today?" Brian asked me. Heidi is the other singer in Butcher Babies and she is my best friend. She normally comes to visit me when Brian is away.
"Not today. She's on a date with Henry." I said focusing on the road. Henry was Heidi's boyfriend. Brian just smiled and nodded his head in response.
"What are going to do then?" Brian asked me in a loving tone.
"I might just go to a coffee shop and draw." I smiled. I adored drawing, especially when I'm in a coffee shop on tour or alone at home. About twenty minutes before we arrived at Tyler's studio, Brian got an e-mail from Tyler. It was one of the songs that he recorded on guitar. We were stuck in traffic so we listened to it together.
"I like the sound of that." Brian commented with a chuckle.
"Awww, it's great!" I leaned over to Brian and pecked his cheek in hopes that it would make him blush and it worked.
"Ohhhh. Save that for tonight, honey." Brian chuckled and winked at me. Brian was a dork sometimes but I loved him.
"Whatever, Brian." I laughed and began driving after the traffic could go again.
We finally arrived at Tyler's studio. Brian and I got out of the car and a man with short blonde hair was standing at the door. The man looked like he was waiting for someone. Was he Tyler? Turns out I was correct because, as Brian and I got closer to the front entrance the man held his arm out to Brian. Brian quickened his steps and gave the man a side hug.
"Hey, Tyler. How are you?" Brian said as he let go of Tyler.
"Good, man. Yourself?" Tyler smiled and I just watched from behind Brian.
"Great." Brian simply said. Tyler looked over Brian's shoulder and smiled at me.
"Is this the beautiful Carla Warner you've told me so much about?" Tyler asked still smiling at me. Brian moved out of the way so that Tyler could see. I just stood there, all shy with my black and blue hair clip-ins, my black skirt , my black leather jacket and my Motor-Head shirt.
"Yeah. She's a little shy around new people a bit like her charming husband." Brian laughed and so did I. I took a few steps towards Tyler and shook his hand.
"I'm Tyler. It's lovely to meet you." Tyler did something that I didn't expect. He brought my hand to his lips and kissed my hand. He was just being a gentleman but Brian got a little overly protective because after Tyler's lips had lest my hand, Brian instantly pulled my hand away and squeezed it.
"I'll see you tonight, honey." Brian said quiet quickly and a little annoyed. Brian leaned down and kissed my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck for a hug. Brian wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up a little so he can give me a proper hug.
"Awww, I love you." I said smiling into the hug.
"I love you too." He lovingly said as he let go of me. Tyler was just standing there, scratching his head and looking at the ground. Brian winked at me and put his hand on Tyler's shoulder.
"Lets make an album." I heard Brian say as I walked back to the car.
