3rd Person's POV

Damien and Sally looked at Vann wide-eyed, then they looked at each other and then back at Vann.

"Alpha, how old is Vann?" The doctor asked. Wracking her head up with ideas or anything to come up with an answer, or even just a thought, to clear up the confusion.

"He'll turn 18 soon, why?" The alpha raised an eyebrow, coming up with ideas of his own about Vann's condition and his anxiety eating him up.

"You haven't explained to him what mates are?" Sally raised her eyebrows as well. Seemingly trying to get whatever answers to help her think over the current conclusion she made. It was truly confusing, whichever angle you look at.

"I...It never seemed to cross my mind. Not that I don't have the intention of telling but I...keep on forgetting," Damien's face was scrunched up as he thought deeply. Thoroughly.

"Can he already shift?" Now only focusing on her Alpha since it seems like he's the only one who can answer. She assumes that Vann was clueless, ignorant of the situation as he was left in the dark.

Vann just sat there, shifting his attention to whoever speaks. He was also feeling confused, sensing the tension from Damien and the puzzlement in Sally's statements.

"No, he can't," Damien curtly answered, looking at Vann's tilted head as he looked at the Alpha with confusion.

"What's shift?" With his still tilted head, Vann asked, ignoring the fact that the room was filled with uncomfortable silence.

Sally looked at Vann, then back at Damien again. "I think you two should have a long talk about everything you haven't told him...or forgot to tell him."

"But..." Damien was struggling to come up with an excuse to say. Anything just to avoid from explaining to Vann such things that he might look for and leave him.

"But?"

"He still feels unwell...it might be too much for him. Can't we wait until he feels better?" Damien didn't want to show his uncertainty, his fear to the pack doctor, after all, he is the Alpha, he should never be uncertain, never show weakness. However, his eyes gave it away for Vann. The silver-head saw through him.

"No, I'd like to know...please?" He looked at Damien with pleading eyes. Now is a chance for me to at least have a few answers from Damien. He never tells me anything.

"...okay..." The Alpha let out a defeated sigh, the tension seemingly left his shoulder in defeat as it sagged and his arms loosened to his side.

Vann let out a small smile as he looked at Damien then at Sally, who, to his surprise, was eyeing him intently. He just smiled at the doctor who returned it with one of her own.

"I guess you'r heading up to your room?" Sally said, drawing a finish for the topic but was far from having a conclusion. "Come back when you still feel unwell, okay?"

"Yes. Thank you, Sally," Vann smiled again and stood to walk beside Damien who quickly drew him near by placing his arm around Vann and pulling him close. Vann waved at the pack doctor as they left the shed.

Vann's POV

As we walked back to the pack house, I noticed that Damien seemed hesitant to go back so soon. He was dragging his feet along the ground, as if trying to prolong the walk back.

"D?"

"Hm? Yes? What is it?" He looked down to me with a small smile playing on his lips. His eyes seemed tired as they slightly drooped to the sides.

"You're...going to...tell me what...Sally meant earlier, right?" I said slowly, I was hesitating since all this time he has been avoiding any question I had, and diverts it into other topics that would get my mind off it.

"Well, it seems that you are more adamant about it, and I know you can be stubborn if you want to...so, I will answer what I can," The smile on his lips faltered but he smiled none the less, making me smile as well.

"Thank you!" I chirped, smiling brightly at him.

We continued to walk towards the pack house. This time, Damien seemed more relaxed and we talked about anything, from our fascinations to trivial things.

"Vannie! How are you feeling dear?" We were greeted by Aunt Lillien's concerned face as she approached us with a small smile on her beautiful face.

"I'm fine, Auntie, just feeling a little under the weather," I said as I leaned to her and gave a peck on her cheeks.

"You should eat something, okay? Here! Have a cookie. I'll have soup made for you at dinner to warm you up," She smiled lovingly as she stretched her arms out to reveal a tray of warm cookies, making my eyes pop out and my mouth drooling! I didn't hesitate as I grabbed two, one for me and one for Damien!

"Thank you, Auntie," I smiled widely as I fed Damien his cookie, bringing it to his lips for him to bite while I nibbled on my own.

"I'll see you in a while, I have you called when supper is ready," She said, wlking away from us and bringing along the tray of cookies. I pouted slightly when I watched her walk away, wishing to take another one but was too late.

"What are you pouting for?" Damien tipped my chin up to look at him with my pout still evident on my face.

"I wanted more cookies," I slightly whined and he just chuckled, making me furrow my eyebrows.

"It's almost time for dinner, I'm sure there will be dessert," He smiled, rubbing his thumb over the corner of my lips and brought it to his own, licking it. "There were crumbs on your lips," He said as he noticed me staring.

As soon as he said that, I stood on the tip of my toes, reaching his face, stuck my tongue out and licked the corner of his lips directly. "There were crumbs on your face as well."

Damien just stood there, frozen, as my feet went flat on the ground again. I looked up to see his stunned face, making me giggle. With a lop-sided smile on my face, I turned my back at him and started walking away. That was fun, I sang in my head.
