† – Birth of a New Day – †
Link picks up a plain sword from the grounds of the Shrine, the slate in his hands glowing brightly as if to guide him in his way inside the chambers. His mind is still wandering, his thoughts mainly focused on the memories he had before. Sure, it wasn't his memories to begin with, or that the memories shown to him doesn't have any relation to this world, but it's great to know that his fellow ancestors were willing to go through lengths just to tell him something quite important. He can't be thankful enough, honestly.
He wandered around the place, turning to series of hallways in order to find the exit. Maybe his demands were heard, or maybe it was just pure luck.
He came across a pedestal, which seems to call out towards the Sheikah slate in his hands. Although confused, he placed it on top.
Abruptly, the large doors in front of him opened up.
Unveiling the beauty of dawn outside, he can even see the lush green grass from inside the Shrine.
A smile creeps up to his lips, and a moment later, he felt three hands on his back; gently pushing him forward. Link looks back over his shoulder and bids goodbye to his ancestors, he probably doesn't need to—since they'll be by his side 'till his journey is finished. With a joyous laugh, he ran out of the place. Taking in the breathtaking view of the marvelous landscape around him.
The grass was pure green, the sun was high up in the sky, and the wind is ever so chilly.
A surge of excitement weaved it's way inside him, blooming by the minute. He can feel the beginning of an adventure, not only that, but the task of saving the entire land is his responsibility. Seeing the whole land feels as if it's an entrance.
A Gateway to the Wild.
Link begins to hike up a cliff, wanting to enjoy the air and stare at the beauty of basically.. Everything. But oh, when he arrived at the cliff, he was taken off guard.
There was a girl standing on the cliff, probably taking in the vast land. She was garbed in armor, and had a rapier strapped to her back. Only, she isn't just a stranger to him. He knows her too well to not notice. Reluctantly, Link takes a step forward—a tree branch snapping. This caught the female's attention, and she turns around. Revealing bright (c) eyes accompanied with a smile.
Link stood there in a dumbfounded manner. Right now, he doesn't know what to feel. He had seen her countless of times in the memories, he had felt the so called 'spark' whenever he met her. However, those were only in the said memories, he wasn't even the Link in those era.
And now, she was there, standing in all of her glory. All the sufferings and the sacrifices that her past selves had done, perfectly hidden underneath a bright smile. (Name) laughs lightly to herself as she folds her arms across her chest, raising an eyebrow as she says,
"Took you long enough." her tone is playful, mischief laced with each spoken word. When his eccentric blue eyes met with hers, a strange feeling rose in his chest. The hope inside him grew along with the fiery courage, it feels as if he's.. drawn to her. Connected to her with a thin string that doesn't seem to break, it's like a strong thread. The female closes her eyes with a smile,
"I'm the one t—"
In a flash, you were taken in a strong embrace. The Hero in blue gently lays his chin on your shoulder as he takes you closer to him, holding you tightly against his chest. You furrow your eyebrows in concern, what's up with the sudden hug? You have awakened in a different shrine a few days ago, you were called by Princess Zelda, who had claimed for you to wait and assist the Hero; Link, in his journey to save Hyrule. All you ever knew is his name..
But you have a feeling that you knew him too well, and you just simply have forgotten.
You wanted to pull away, but for some reason, you can't. You don't want to. The embrace.. just feels so right. As if you suffered for so many times, you gained this action as a reward. With a soft smile, you wrap your arms around him, as well. Returning the warm embrace as the wind blew around, welcoming the both of you to the very beginning of your journey together, welcoming the both of you to a new day.
The haunting memories of his past selves would be left alone, he is aware. Link knows, that the three Heroes had gained what they want. The guilt, the sorrow, and the regret will remain only in the depths of their minds. They have ascended into the after life, and Link knows, they have reunited with each other again.
The very moment he had given you an embrace, both destinies intertwined, and are sealed for eternity. From that simple action, the Goddesses themselves knew and accepted the fact that there would be no separation from the two of you—and in that time, the time where the first Breath of the Wild is present in your journey, you were his; and he was yours.
For eternity.
"Whatever's left in the dark past, is now nothing but a fleeting, distant memory in the present."
