I layed down on the soft bed, the blankets entangled around my bare body. Sweat shriveled down my forehead, deep breaths of exhaustion. It was a lovely moment..."My love you should rest some more," he said while nuzzling the crook of my neck. I wrapped my tiny arms on his naked torso so that I am facing him.
"You have exhausted me dear, give me time to fall asleep," I pouted drawing small circles on his chest. His soft breathing was my lullaby. I could never get tired of this man beside me right now.
"I am sorry love," he said with a small chuckle.
"What ever for?" I asked looking at him. His green orbs just looked at me with adoration, love and lust. Giving me a feeling that we are not done after my short nap. "For tiring you, my dear I wish you were not so talented in this craft," he said placing a strand of hair behind my ear.
I blushed with his words, goodness gracious. This man is much better than I am, and that makes me wonder how he mastered such thing as this. "Oh hush now, I am ready to fall asleep please do not disturb me," I smirked and turned to my other side.
His soft laughed were like music not realizing that he was already hugging me. His hands on my skin make my insides spark. How blessed am I?
"I love you Tania"
"As do I."
I sat on my desk making phone calls not bothered by the time. It was then a woman dressed in a scandalous way went up to me with a glare. "Where is Lincoln?" She asked me.
"He is inside miss, may I ask if you have an appointment?" I asked her. Her glare hardened even more, if that's even possible. She just flipped me off and went straight towards the door.
"Miss you cannot enter, Mr. Sawyer is a busy man," I reasoned out.
"Busy my ass," she said about to open the door. I tried reaching out for her but she slapped my reaching hand and faced me. Her angry figure scared me, her hand raised, thinking that she would hit me. I winced when her hand made contact with my face.
"Don't stop me you bitch! You don't know who I am so just shut the fuck up!" She yelled making me cringe and look down to my feet.
She made a move to push me, I just waited to impact but it never came. Instead I heard a door open, I opened my eyes and saw my boss glaring at the woman. "What are you doing here Ayela?"
"I'm here for you Lincoln, you never called back."
Mr. Sawyer 'tsked' and looked at me. Guessing that he saw the red hand mark on my face, his glare turned darker. If that's possible his teeth gritted making a soft but audiable sound.
"Did you assult this woman Ayela?" He asked. His voice trailed danger and rage, even I my blood went cold and was drained from my face. The woman shook her head.
I stood dumb fonded when Mr. Sawyer held my wrist and looked at me in the eye. "Did this woman slap you Tania," he asked. His was tone was surprisingly soft and gentle making my heart flutter.
I looked back at the woman and saw her eyes pure with murder, making me think twice to tell the truth. But I know what's right.
"Yes sir, she slapped me," I said in a soft whisper. He just nodded and faced the woman again. "You are now banned from entering my building, my home and everywhere I go."
"Leave, and never come back."
The woman was stunned, looking as if she didn't process everything. Her eyes were emotionless but tears started dropping. My guilt started to build up.
"You can't do this Lincoln," she said with a shaky voice. Instead of hearing the woman's pleads, he just went towards my desk and took the telephone. "Yes, please send security and send away this woman out of my building."
"We are not done yet!" The woman screamed making my ears ring. I opened my eyes she was gone, to my guess she already ran away.
"Get a cup of coffee Tania and bring it inside my office," Mr. Sawyer said walking back inside his office.
I entered the pantry and prepared the coffee, I also took out the cheese cake I bought thinking that he might like it since I never got a chance to eat it. I might as well offer it as thanks for saving me from that woman.
"Sir, here is your coffee," I said opening the door. When I entered the office I saw a wide space, gray tiles a black carpet in the center paired with white couches. The only colored thing in the office was a massive painting of what might look like a wedding.
"Come here Tania," I walked up to him, clutching his coffee and cheese cake in my hands. "Here is your coffee sir, and please accept this cheese cake as my thanks for saving me from that woman."
He nodded.
I stopped talking after that and placed the food on his table. "Miss Tania, may I ask when my next appointment will be?"
"Later this afternoon sir in a place called 'Emerald Gardens" I said looking at the small notebook I always keep in my pocket.
"Move it till tomorrow morning, tell them I have urgent business this afternoon," he said while tapping away on his laptop.
"But after that you have the board meeting sir," I said with a pointed look. "Move it for tomorrow at 6," he said with finality in his voice. I nodded and left the office, I didn't realize that I was holding my breath until I got out and exhaled.
I started to make phone calls and apologized to the people whose meeting will be moved. This job is very challenging especially when I have to manage my boss's day. If he is to change plans then it is my job to keep things in order even if the other appointments are affected.
When my shift was done, I took assigned reports to the department heads for finalizing before I give it to the boss. Most of the department heads were my friends from low positions before we ever got promoted.
"I will be needing those by the morrow understood?" I said with a smile. "Will do Tanny," Dale said with a salute.
"Goodbye," I waved and walked back to the elevator and punched in my floor. I should address my departure to Mr. Sawyer in case he would be needing me further.
I knocked on his door, I heard a faint sound to my cue to come inside. "Good evening Mr. Salazar, I believe it is my time to leave."
"Go ahead but before you leave please order me some food, I may have to work over time for this," he said. I want to protest, over working may exhaust him but I know we'll to not argue with my boss.
After ordering his food, I delivered the food inside his office myself and saw him on his desk head on his arms. I would've woken him up so he could go home and eat but I didn't.
Instead I took my scarf that I always bring and placed it around his shoulders. And left.
