Up and Down

''At least I have some quiet time for myself...'' Edward thought that Thursday morning since Al was in his morning class, and Winry was working sitting on the floor looking at the list of songs Riza had given him making him sigh when seeing she had circled 'For Your Entertainment' multiple times, making a face walking towards the kitchen but stopped when hearing the doorbell, ''So much for quiet.'' He said folding the paper and putting it in his pocket. ''Yeah-? Oh... It's you... Shouldn't you be getting ready to work with your stripper friends.'' Edward said making a face when seeing Roy at the door with a bright smile, but drop it with an uncomfortable expression, ''Jeez... They have names you know...'' Roy said looking away from the grumpy blonde, ''I decided to give them a break for a few days to enjoy themselves.'' He added with Edward making a face, raising a brow at what he said. ''And you had to bother me?'', ''I understand you're mad at me for certain reasons but please... I'm trying to keep things casual between us now... At least let me be around as a friend...'' Roy said with a sigh, ''I needed your opinion, but by the looks of right now, I can just figure it out myself.'' He said with an clearly uncomfortable expression, making Edward remember how much the raven haired male hated his attitude, ''...Just... Come in already...''. When inside Roy looked over Edward who was dressed in sweats, and a black muscle shirt looking at his well built arms, and figure seeing his hair was down, ''What did you want to ask me?'' Edward asked turning to see Roy looking away from him, ''...You can look at me you know...'' Edward said making a face with a sigh seeing the raven haired male look at him with an uncertain expression, ''I'll make this quick.'' Roy started. ''I wanted to ask you, if you think for the second opener it should be 'Flesh For Fantasy', and for the finisher it should be 'Girl Got A Gun', since you're the one that gave us the input.'' Roy said getting to the point seeing Edward look at him silently for a long moment, ''Whatever you guys do, it looks good... Why ask me?'' Edward said feeling his face tint up, ''Because you're my friend.'' Roy said making Edward's heart ache a bit again, putting his hand over his chest at the familiar pain.





''Edward?... Are you alright?'' Roy asked with a concerned expression seeing Edward make a face but look at him with his golden eyes with his usual expression, ''I'm... Just fine.'' Edward huffed looking up to see Roy on his phone appearing to be text messaging someone making a face scrunching his face, wondering what bothered the raven haired male when he put his phone away, ''I'll be going, sorry for bothering you.'' Roy said fixing his sweater hoodie. ''H-Hey!... Is something wrong?...'' Edward asked seeing Roy laugh a bit and smile, ''Nothing you should be concerned about. Anyways, thanks for the second opinion.'' He said heading for the door pausing when he felt his phone go off again, grabbing the phone again heaving a heavy sigh, ''Edward... I didn't say anything I swear... But Hughes wants us both to go over to his place.'' Roy said hearing Edward sigh and walk off, ''Man... I didn't even get to eat... Thanks.''. ''Yay! They're here!'' Elicia said in joy jumping Roy when seeing Roy and Edward at the door thirty minutes later, with the small puppy running over to Edward, ''You saw me on Monday.'' Roy said laughing with Elicia smiling looking over to Hughes with a smile, '' Where's Gracia?'' Roy asked, ''She's in the kitchen, have you two eaten?'' Hughes asked looking at Edward who frowned holding the puppy in his arms, ''No he didn't.'' Roy answered with a nervous laugh. ''Ah, it's nice to see you two together, getting along for once.'' Gracia commented turning with a bright smile when she heard them walk in making Roy smile nervously, and Edward roll his golden eyes, ''I'm trying...'' Roy said with a nervous laugh with Elicia looking at Roy's neck with a strange expression tilting her head squinting her large green eyes, ''...What's this... Are these bug bites?'' She asked making Roy pause at what she said confused. ''Bug bites?... What bug bites?-!?'' He asked stopping getting red in the face when the small girl had unzipped his hoodie, and exposed his marked up neck, and chest surprising the group, but bothering Edward a bit understanding now why Roy was in a good mood, ''Did bugs bite you?'' Elicia asked again poking them till Hughes pulled her off the embarrassed raven haired male, who quickly blushed zipping up the sweater glancing away mouthing silently, ''Shit...''.





''Elicia... Be a dear, and go play in your room with Butterscotch, I'll bring you a piece of pie okay?'' Gracia said taking Elicia off her husbands hands with the tanned puppy jumping off and following after them, ''Roy Mustang. Are you being careless again?'' Hughes asked looking at his friend suspiciously, who just turned to see Edward glaring at him surprising him but turned away with an embarrassed expression and sigh when Gracia came back. ''So you're seeing somebody now?'' Gracia asked making Roy sigh even more, ''No... I'm not seeing anybody.'' He answered putting his hand on his neck making a face, ''So you're just screwing around than?'' Edward's voice cut in making Roy pause in surprise turning to him with a surprised but casual look, ''Of course I am.'' Roy said bluntly making Edward's heart ache, but force a smile despite his face twitching at the obvious jealousy with Hughes and Gracia who looked at one another concerned, ''That's nice.'' Edward said simply. ''...Well I didn't call you two here for this... I came to ask if you two could watch Elicia for a bit while we went grocery shopping.'' Hughes asked with a sigh, ''Of course we can.'' Roy said back to his usual smile, with Gracia looking over to Edward who was frowning with a smile, ''Edward, you're too young to be scrunching your face so much. Come with me for a bit, Elicia's been asking for you a lot.'' She said walking off with Edward. ''Okay, I know you're not doing this on purpose, but don't you think you're in the wrong messing around with women, when you clearly STILL LIKE Ed.'' Hughes said looking at his best friend disappointed, ''We didn't even go far, she just decided to mark me up for no reason.'' Roy said with a huff before making a face, since he knew his best friend had a point, making Hughes sigh and put his arm around his friend. ''We get it, you're good looking, you can get any woman you want... But please... Ed hates you enough.'' Hughes said seeing Roy look at him with an 'I already know that' expression, ''Look, Edward is free to do what he likes, and so am I. We don't exactly have a commitment you know.'' Roy said, ''You know I may be happily married, but I know people still do that whole 'Friends with benefits' thing.'' Hughes said seeing Roy make a face, ''I don't.'', ''Well either do that or just settle down already, you're not young anymore.'' Hughes said simply stinging Roy.





''It bothered you didn't it?'' Gracia said casually in Elicia's room looking over to Edward who gave an obvious expression it did, ''Do you like him?'' She asked bluntly looking over to the blonde who looked down making a face despite his flustered blush, ''No... I don't...'', ''Hmm... I figured with the way you reacted you were, but guess I was wrong.'' Gracia said with a smile as her small daughter ran and played with the small tanned puppy. ''I've told you this before... But Roy isn't a bad person, he just makes really odd choices, but he likes you a lot. I seen it with the way he looks at you, I think that's why you should at least let him try being a friend to you.'' Gracia said with Elicia looking at them puppy in hand, ''Big Brother... Did you get in a fight with Roy because of me?'' The small girl asked with pained expression quickly making Edward smile at her, ''No not one bit Elicia, we get along very well We're... Good friends.'' Edward said with a laugh with Gracia looking at the blonde with a concerned expression. ''We'll be back in a while, so try to get along?'' Hughes asked at the door with Roy looking over to Edward and back to his best friend, ''Of course.'' Roy said simply with Edward making a face looking down wit Gracia wanting to say something but smiled, ''Great, feel free to snack with Elicia.'' She said as the door closed, with the raven haired male looking down at the small girl, who smiled in content  with Butterscotch in her arms. ''Well Elicia... What do you want to do?'' Roy asked, ''I want to play outside!'' She said happily with Roy over to Edward, ''Well go with Edward outside, while I bring us some pie and snacks, okay?~'' The raven haired male said with a smile bending down a bit, and kissing the more than happy girl's head with Edward watching as Roy walked off, ''Big Brother?'', ''Sorry, Let's go outside yeah?'' Edward said with a smile walking off with Elicia and the small dog. ''She fell asleep...'' Edward said later, ''Well she did run  A LOT.'' Roy said putting the sleeping small girl on the couch covering her with the nearby blanket with the small tanned puppy jumping on the couch and onto Elicia to sleep with her, ''Well looks like she's not the only one that's tired.'' The raven haired male said with a chuckle with Edward thinking about what Gracia had said about Roy earlier and before.




''He's not a bad person... He's actually really caring and considerate...'' Edward thought as Roy sat down on the couch across from them in a relieved sigh pulling his zipper down to get some air, revealing his marked up neck and chest making a face at them, '', ''With the way you're glaring at me, it makes me think you want to contribute to this hickey collection.'' Roy said with a raised brow and casual expression looking over to Edward who got red in the face. ''Haha...'' Edward said making a face sticking his tongue out walking over to sit down on the couch away from the raven haired male, pulling his phone out to message Al he would be home later putting it back away, glancing over to see Roy playing with his tongue piercing getting uncomfortable at the awkward silence between them, ''Just so you know, when you start training with me, it'll be hands on, so I'll have to be touching you in some way, to help you get over being touched by the women when you start...'' Roy said almost shyly. Edward felt shy despite them touching a few times before, still hating the marks on Roy's neck and chest from whoever he had messed around with scrunching his face again, ''Stop scrunching your face so much.'' Edward heard Roy say, ''If you hate the hickeys so much just say so.'', ''I do hate them!'' Edward screamed but paused when remembering Elicia and the small dog were asleep, turning to see Roy sighing, ''Elicia's sleeping, stupid...''. ''Excuse me???-!?'' Edward started heated up tensing up surprised when the raven haired male had suddenly grabbed his face and kiss him suddenly, pulling away with a shy flustered expression glancing away, ''I'm sorry about the hickeys okay?... We didn't even go far...'' Roy said letting go of the others face wondering why he was apologizing with Edward staying silent blushing at the sudden kiss making both males feel awkward for a moment. ''I said I'd keep it mutual, but here I am kissing you...'' Roy said making a face, ''I'm sorry.'' The raven haired male said again till Edward put his hand on his neck pulling him inches from his face, looking down with a flustered hesitant expression, ''Just this once...'' Edward said almost shyly leaning forward, with Roy a bit hesitant since Elicia was a few feet away from them sleeping, but lean forward kissing the blonde again who pulled from the kiss, and nip the nape of his neck.

''Thanks for helping, also thanks for watching Elicia for us again.''Hughes said when both himself and Gracia had returned from the market and fixed everything with the help of both Roy and Edward, turning to both males seemed a bit off, ''...Elicia behaved herself right?'', ''Of course she did. Right Edward?'' Roy said with a smile, with Edward nodding, ''Of course she did, she ran around a lot, and fell asleep, that was it.'' Edward said with Hughes raising a brow at them turning to Elicia who was smiling at him happily. ''Well she definitely seems well rested.'' Hughes said picking up the small girl, and doting her happily, ''Take this as a thank you.'' Gracia said with smile holding a whole apple pie to both Roy and Edward, but paused when seeing Roy had more marks on the nape of his neck pausing with a confused expression, ''?...'', ''Gracia?... Are you alright?'' Hughes asked concerned when seeing his wife look at Roy confused, making Roy nervous, ''No... It's just... Would you like me to cover those up before you leave?'' Gracia asked making a face. ''...It's fine... Thank you though.'' Roy replied with a nervous laugh with Edward looking away with a nervous but usual grumpy expression, but look to the raven haired male with raised brow, ''I think you should cover them up, no one needs to see them personally.'' He said with Hughes sighing at Roy who reacted to what he said, ''At least I can get some.'', ''Stop it. The both of you. Can't you two ever get along?'' Hughes cut in making both Roy and Edward make a face at one another staying silent. ''Those two honestly...'' Hughes said with a sigh when they had left looking to Gracia who just smiled at him, ''Now, now Honey... Give them time.'' She said with Elicia playing with Butterscotch in the living room with her husband who gave a thoughtful expression, ''Gracia... Did Roy have that many hickeys?'' He asked, ''No... He didn't... Gracia answered till a small voice cut in, ''Big Brother made them.'' Elicia's voice said making both parents look down surprised. ''It's true, Roy kissed Big Brother and he said he was sorry about the hickeys. He even said he was sorry about kissing him. But Edward grabbed Roy and kissed him on his own and made the marks.'' Elicia said innocently with both Hughes and Gracia looking at one another even more confused, ''I... Think... I know where this is going...'' Gracia said quietly with Hughes sighing but nod in agreement, ''...If you're thinking 'friends with benefits'... We're on the same page Gracia...''.
